Why does every thread descend into bickering over something completely irrelevant to the subject?

Ipswich fan i know is happy with that draw too. Good incentive for them as well

Barely bickering and barely irrelevant, in fairness.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 7:47 pmWhy does every thread descend into bickering over something completely irrelevant to the subject?

I bet you can't provide any stats to back that up.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 7:36 pm**** off about Muric and his passing. He plays as many poor passes as he does good
I suspect he has the highest pass completion rate in the team.
As one of our opponents managers recently commented, when we have the ball it's like we have 11 outfield players.

There is a good chance that the quarter finals will be packed with premier league teams (apart from our place).

Re: FA Cup 5th round draw thread
I made a point about Muric being more suited to the way we play out from the back and that would be better for us the further in the competition we go, yet it gets turned into how many goals did Peacock-Farrell let in at Ipswich and we scored 4 against Bournemouth, some people are so blinded to other people's views
Re: FA Cup 5th round draw thread
Great draw, thought we were nailed on to get United or City at one point though!

Delighted with that draw, beat 2 league 1 teams at home and we'll be in the last 8, we'll not get a better shot for many years, so let's give it a right go and provide further excitement to what's already been a fantastic season.

But anyway, who cares. The point was just because BPF starts doesn’t mean we will be out ie. Muric doesn’t HAVE to play.

30 of the last 34 FA Cup Finals have been won by a “top 6” team and 3 of the other 4 Finals featured a team from the “top 6”.
With several leading clubs still in the competition every chance of history repeating itself (again).

Re: FA Cup 5th round draw thread
I can’t deny that he plays some superb passes but many, many times he has put it straight over our FBs heads for throw ins. Without mentioning that ridiculous pass he plays to Cork or Cullen on the edge of our box, when they are being closed down rapidly. That one has already cost us two goals this season and a couple of let offs. He must be under instruction but he has eyes and a brain. Nobody seems to notice.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 7:51 pmI bet you can't provide any stats to back that up.

Re: FA Cup 5th round draw thread
Happy to avoid the top 5 still in the cup;
Man City
Man U
Tottenham
Brighton
Fulham
Think we could do any of the others, so a favourable draw could see us progress quite far.

Absolutely none at all but it seems someone thought it useful to introduce the subject of the goalkeepers on a thread about the cup draw although why I’ve no idea.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 7:51 pmArguing about BPFs pass completion rate compared to Muric is relevant to a thread about the 5th round draw?? Re: FA Cup 5th round draw thread
As favourable as the draw is, I’m not getting over excited. I’ve seen these things go wrong far too often. But it would be nice to reach the sixth round for the first time in twenty years.

Regarding the cup draw, in my opinion If we play Muric we have a better chance of progressing, but like most threads if it's not other people's opinion it gets jumped all over and shot down, but it was about the cup drawClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 8:19 pmAbsolutely none at all but it seems someone thought it useful to introduce the subject of the goalkeepers on a thread about the cup draw although why I’ve no idea.

Re: FA Cup 5th round draw thread
Fantastic draw for all 4 clubs - on paper we must be favourites to be beat away at Man City in the QF but I’m not counting chickens (that’s for that lot down the road)

Three close games between Sheff W and Fleetwood in the last few weeks.
Hopefully Fleetwood see them off in the replay.

Yep, when it was still 0-0 I think. We’d murdered them at home in the league that year as well.

Interesting stat, but I assume that that will include all touches / clearances, including when he has to kick long or rapidly clear his lines.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 8:03 pmYou suspect wrong. He has the 13th best pass completion rate.
The stats for short passes would I'm sure be much different.
