It’s that bloody irritating co commentator on Sky again. I say co commentator, the problem is she never shuts up.

Her voice certainly isn’t made for commentating. This is what happens when people are picked for jobs for other reason then whoever is best for the job.Claretincraven wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 8:07 pmIt’s that bloody irritating co commentator on Sky again. Commentators drooling over Fernandez playing a pass with the outside of his foot, obviously not watched us recently, our Goalkeeper does that.

Could Barnsley yet make a late push for automatic, they are a fair way adrift of the top 2, however they do have games in hand on all those above them.

Re: Tonights football
Officiating is as bad as the comms. Manure fouling all over the field and Forest are going down to easy.
Forest defender rests his hands on Fernandes shoulders, Fernandes goes down and he has used his body to defend the ball so it’s a FK. Utter garbage.
The incident where Martinez accused Dennis of diving he had clipped his left foot. I wouldn’t have given the pen but it wasn’t a dive. Being Argentinian his hystrionics were poorly a show for the ref.

Re: Tonights football
VAR just make it up, absolute stonewall penalty for a foul on Weghorst, as clear cut as you will see.

I’m not sure how that wasn’t given.

I thought the defender just got a touch in the ball before following through on to Wout

Barnsley hold on for a vital win.

I'm just hoping it's Tom v Nick in the final. That would be sweet, especially if Tripps and Weghorst start as well.

Re: Tonights football
I would say your last sentence is out of order and potentially racist. Do English players never dive and cheat, or French, or German? What about Dutch, or Belgian?Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 8:46 pmOfficiating is as bad as the comms. Manure fouling all over the field and Forest are going down to easy.

Forest are a team of strangers with massive job needed to integrate them into a team. There was no fight or passion and they let their loyal fans down big time
This further highlights the fantastic job VK and his team are doing having welded our multiple signings into Championship winners

Correct and correct but it is inbuilt in Argentinian DNA. The rest of the world copied them.

BTW My hatred of Argentinian football, not Argentinians, stems from the 1966 World Cup, Celtic in the ‘67 intercontinental cup and Manchester Utd the following season. As Alf Ramsey said “Animals”.

Re: Tonights football
Good grief man, do you still hate the Germans for the war? Things have moved on and to say it’s in their DNA is possibly one of the most ridiculous and racist things I’ve seen on this board. I actually cannot believe you have posted that.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 10:01 amBTW My hatred of Argentinian football, not Argentinians, stems from the 1966 World Cup, Celtic in the ‘67 intercontinental cup and Manchester Utd the following season. Re: Tonights football
I'm not particularly a fan of the German's as in Ww1 my Grandad was killed by them and in Ww2 my dad was severely wounded by them. I've learnt to live with the fact over the years, but sometimes it's very hard to forgive and forget.

Re: Tonights football
Sad story bud but this is what happens in the idiocy we call war. My dad was in WW2 and my grandad in WW1 much like yours. Both saw awful things and lost friends but then so did the guys on the other side. The problem with war bud is the people doing the fighting are generally no worse or better on either side. They are just people ordered to go and fight the enemy created by the idiots we call government. Millions of people died in those two wars that were ‘declared’ by a tiny number of people, most of whom didn’t actually go and fight.

Re: Tonights football
Probably yes. Unless you believe that the English can be belittled without redress. The reason I called it racist, and I am far from a politically correct individual, is that it criticised players simply based on their nationality. That is classic racism.
We live in a society where certain groups are so protected people dare not criticise (I think you may know who I mean) but it seems fine to openly criticise Russians, Argentinians, Iranians or even Scots. Personally I would protect no one in the quest for freedom of speech, but if you have rules they should apply to everyone. Would that poster have dared to criticise a player and say it’s because he is Asian? I think not.
