Tom Heaton
Tom Heaton
How good is it to see Tom Heaton who was a brilliant keeper,& ambassador for Burnley FC getting his just rewards playing in front of a big Old Trafford crowd,& possibly a Wembley final alongside Pope,& Tripps who also have been brilliant for the Clarets .
Re: Tom Heaton
He wasn't really a brilliant 'ambassador' though, was he?
Re: Tom Heaton
He was .
Re: Tom Heaton
But that wasn't ever his role.
Re: Tom Heaton
Don’t be pedantic.

3 out of 4 Keepers in the Semi's are former Claret TopFlight - PL Keepers.
Bet that has never happened before or will again.

Pope and Heaton will potentially keep goal in the final.

Re: Tom Heaton
Heaton really was one of the best around for a time at Burnley.
He’s probably only played about 40 games in the last six seasons unfortunately. Incredibly unlucky.

Re: Tom Heaton
Got injured in the fourth game of the 2017/18 season and the only league games he played for us after that were the second half of the 2018/19 season. Hasn’t played in the Premier League since being stretchered off on the Turf playing for Villa.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 9:14 pmHeaton really was one of the best around for a time at Burnley.

He certainly was.
Re: Tom Heaton
You have said it all Tony. Apart from Keith Newton I cannot think of a better "free" transfer we have signed but i may be wrong. A phenomenal keeper for us and a leader.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 9:38 pmGot injured in the fourth game of the 2017/18 season and the only league games he played for us after that were the second half of the 2018/19 season. Re: Tom Heaton
The good old ‘get out’ shouts that probably got heard in Bacup unlucky to not get more of a chance for England but that’s the story of being a Burnley keeper I guess.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 9:38 pmGot injured in the fourth game of the 2017/18 season and the only league games he played for us after that were the second half of the 2018/19 season. Re: Tom Heaton
Still my favourite ever Burnley player
Re: Tom Heaton
Did his injury restrict his International call ups? It was the reason our best ever keeper (IMO) Colin McDonald didnt have the England shirt for yearsMilltown1882 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 9:44 pmThe good old ‘get out’ shouts that probably got heard in Bacup unlucky to not get more of a chance for England but that’s the story of being a Burnley keeper I guess.
Re: Tom Heaton
Good to see him tonight and making a decent save. Looked like he was physically showing his age, in his movement, for me.
Superb keeper and captain for us.

Hello Fidel!fidelcastro wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:08 amPhysically showing his age? Two outstanding saves proved otherwise.
You don't half talk some rubbish
I didn't say he was an old man in a wheelchair! Just not the flexible Heaton we had at Turf Moor.

This is why he will ALWAYS be a Clarets legend.

Re: Tom Heaton
I don’t think Scott Arfield & David Jones weren’t good free signings either at the same time and then there was the best of the lot for me in Martin Dobson.
