Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
The facts that Everton are in 19th place, fighting relegation, have no money and the owner has just put them up for sale, will have nothing to do with no signings, me thinks it is not the fault of Sean Dyche.
The only reason Tarkowski went there is because he knew Dyche would follow

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
They got Dyche in how long before the transfer window closed? About two days. JC himself would have struggled to get people in, given that time scale.
He's got a hell of a job on his hands and he will know it, hence his 2.5 year contract.

Scousers attacking their own players is hardly a recruitment positive.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
But that has nothing to do with the transfer pull of Sean Dyche, no one wants to go to Everton because they are in the mire, as far as Dyche he probably looks at it as a challenge and he will need all the luck he can get with the toxic atmosphere at Everton.

Frank Lampard was Everton manager for 22 days of the transfer window, Sean Dyche two and they didn’t sign a player in the whole of the window. I think it’s the pull of a club being torn apart that’s the issue.

If you had to choose between Everton or Spurs, it's a bit of a no brainer really, regardless of who's manager.
They did try to get players in, but Everton are a real mess.
To think it's Dyche's fault is just bizarre and probably says more about you than Dyche.

I wonder which closed first, the transfer window or the door Dyche walked through. I mean, of all the thing to criticise him for.
The way some of you post on here, you would think he had taken us from the EPL to the bottom of the National League. God help us when we do actually get a crap manager.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
What pulling power do Nathan Jones, Gary O’Neill and Steve Cooper have?
The difference is their billionaire backers threw money at the problem, not just in this window.
Everton are struggling with FFP, have a divided board, a massive investment in a new stadium, they have a director of football/recruitment who appears to be a bit like the fella we had here and a disgruntled fan base. They have burnt through a series of managers, have no forward long term plan.
Yet some on here think it’s Dyches lack of pulling power. In this shitty stick of a situation he is about the only positive they have.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
It’s daft to blame Dyche for this, but as we found, his appointment probably won’t have helped. Who was that player who chose Championship Bournemouth over us because he didn’t think Dyche’s football would suit him?
The club is in a real mess, and if Dyche’s time with us is anything to go by, his management tends to be less effective when there’s turmoil round the place.

Everton spent more than half a billion pounds on players over a 5 year period so I would be very surprised if Bournemouth and Southampton have spent more.

Strikes me that during this window Everton weren't doing anything recruitment wise regardless of who was manager.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
They have and that is again part of the problem, they threw money at it buying a series of average players who have underperformed. Dyche is now picking up the reins but has been given no money, but is left with those transfers brought in by other managers.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 11:25 amEverton spent more than half a billion pounds on players over a 5 year period so I would be very surprised if Bournemouth and Southampton have spent more.
Agreed that Southampton and Bournemouth have not spent more over a five year period, I was referencing this window.

Incredible isn't it £500m and counting and they could well be playing the likes of Rotherham next season.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 11:25 amEverton spent more than half a billion pounds on players over a 5 year period so I would be very surprised if Bournemouth and Southampton have spent more.
Regarding the OP, yes Dyche did have a mixed track record on attracting players to Burnley, however on balance he generally got it right more often than not, although in recent years the hits have become less and the misses grown,.
Let's be real here why on earth would any player worth their salt won't to go to Everton, the club is in a total shambles on and off the pitch, with the very real prospect of Championship football looming.
They didn't sign anyone this January when Lampard was at the helm, and despite selling Gordon at the 11th hour they still can't attract players.
Can't all be down to SD, as most players know that managers at Everton rarely last long these days.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
You’re aware we’re in the championship ? Was nothing whatsoever to do with SD , it was the sheer lack of investment from the board ( for yrs) and our “ crap “ wages simple as that .
Vinny’s doing a brilliant job and balancing the loan players well . To compare VK’s tenure with SD’s 10yrs + is ludicrous .

Give it a rest, Shaggy. You're embarrassing yourself.
Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
Like we did during his time at Burnley, Dyche needs to be given time at Everton. But whether they will as another thing. I would say probably something of a blessing in disguise they've not made any last-minute panic signings - the onus is on Sean Dyche and the coaching team to get the best out of the squad they have in the short-term, aim to keep them up and then have a busy summer in terms of ins / outs. Whether the Everton supporters will afford him that time is another thing though, their expectations are beyond the reality of where they are now and have been in the last 2-3 seasons. Things usually get worse before they get better when rebuilding - not sure Everton fans will stomach that and the very real threat of relegation. Relegation wouldn't be the disaster the club think - likelihood is they'll bounce straight back and have momentum. Again though, will the club and the fans accept that - probably not.

Dyche bashing is fun. As a side effect get to see all those with low EQ go tonto. Kick Dyche and a few keyboard warriors get a limp.

At the end of the day if certain people never went way overboard with their defence of Dyche at all costs then they wouldn’t get wound up. It’s called life.
I would suggest that those who avidly follow Dyche disappear to support Everton or which ever club he goes to when he gets sacked again.

Thing is you’re the one who hasn’t moved on. Most of us have said thank you very much, wished him well and will take a passing interest in how he’s doing and get on with our lives. It’s a normal response. You’re like the stalker ex-boyfriend. Constantly bad mouthing your ex, hoping she (or he) doesn’t find another boyfriend and if they do hoping they’re miserable together. It consumes you. Have you considered some sort of therapy?Shaggy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 12:33 pmYour all over the place. One minute not an adult then a sad old troll make your kind up.
