It’s the people who make emotional outbursts and ad hominems in response that are the ones who have low EQ.
You can call it trolling but there is a more than a hint of truth embedded in the posts raised. Like Dyche for example being poor in the transfer market

It's probably just easier if we ignore EQ boy moving forwards.

You should probably look up EQ. People trolling on message boards don’t generally exhibit the behaviours associated with high emotional intelligence.

Oh it is trolling, Shaggy. That post of yours said everything. I'll leave it at that. I'm only feeding the troll, and it's never a good look. Don't wrestle with a pig. You get dirty - but the pig enjoys it.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
The first part of your post is complete nonsense; there are many outside factors that can make intelligent people react in an emotive way, perhaps completely unrelated to the specific topic. Posters who engage in trolling are either lacking empathy for fellow posters, who may have life issues away from Burnley Football Club, or they get off in upsetting fellow Burnley supporters. Neither position do I understand.Shaggy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 12:44 pmGood for you.

As for SD’s transfer dealings, they are based on opinion and I have more sympathy for your position, SD made some astute signings but also erred several times in the transfer market.

Trolling is more on the offensive side of things.Billy Balfour wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 12:52 pmOh it is trolling, Shaggy. That post of yours said everything. I'll leave it at that. If you find the suggestion that SD is has a poor transfer pull/and or just a poor in the transfer market offensive then that’s your problem and would suggest your emotions are controlling your behaviour.
It’s not an outrageous suggestion either.
Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
But it’s you bringing the emotion into it. Disagreeing with something is not the same as finding it ‘offensive’. Again, if you’re going to throw round the term ‘EQ’ I suggest you look it up.Shaggy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 12:59 pmTrolling is more on the offensive side of things.

This is similar to the fans slagging ALK and pace off for not signing anyone after they were appointed to the board just before the window shut. You can’t judge him off this window, and deserves a chance before slagging him off.

Presumably, the ones stating that incidents like the one surrounding Gordon have no effect on the reticence of players signing for Everton, also dismiss Stan’s explanation of why Peter Crouch backed out of signing for the club in the immediate aftermath of the Burnley riots.2 Bee Holed wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:06 pmPrecisely. Would you work there? A mob stopping your car on the King's Highway, accosting you when you've got kids on the back seat.
I wouldn't fancy working there.

Not sure. The Everton players and their families must have felt threatened. Not sure there was ever any direct threat to Crouch.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:14 pmPresumably, the ones stating that incidents like the one surrounding Gordon have no effect on the reticence of players signing for Everton, also dismiss Stan’s explanation of why Peter Crouch backed out of signing for the club in the immediate aftermath of the Burnley riots.

I hear Everton are trying to get the 33 year old Ayew who is out of contract. Sure SD still has Dale Stephens mobile number and Lennons. Apparently Everton had 14 targets and got none over the line

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
I’m fairly certain there wasn’t any direct threat, but the treatment of the town was toxic (some of it justified) and ST has been quoted as saying t cost him Crouch’s signature.2 Bee Holed wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:24 pmNot sure. Apparently if the O’Brien move to Rovers is confirmed today then Ayew is heading to Forest.warksclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:34 pmI hear Everton are trying to get the 33 year old Ayew who is out of contract. You've basically twice admitted to creating a thread to intentionally wind up other posters, hope the MODs give you a ban. The board is for discussion and debate. Not intentional baiting others into an arguement. The board would be much better off without posters like you.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
This is off Grand Old Team
'...he's been told (by someone who is absolutely NOT a fan of Kenwright - just for the record) that we were turned down by no fewer than 17 (SEVENTEEN!) players yesterday - with reasons varying from league position, to fan protests/unrest - including Batshuayi who "was open to a return to the Premier League, but wanted to join a more stable project'
Most of them are saying it isn't Dyche's fault and he seems to being given more slack now.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
Sean Dyche wasn't appointed for his expertise in the transfer market, they've thrown money at managers they thought they could trust in that respect and been badly let down, Sean was brought in to sort out the mess that those managers have left and I for one hope and believe he will do it, not because I've any feelings for Everton, it's because I like Sean Dyche, I've never met him but I feel like he's my mate.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
Sean's merely in to throw the kitchen sink at a survival bid with the tools at his disposal, I think they purposely delayed his appointment longer than necessary so he purposely couldn't sign anybody the club are skint anyway despite the gordon lad going up Tyneside.

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
Although Frank wasn't afforded the luxury of a whole day, I think, just looking at who he signed in the 2022 January Window,
Donny Van de Beek
Dele Alli
So was that the pulling power of Frank Lampard, or even then, a reflection of the standing that Grand Old Club.

Not sure I'm following what the objection and mirth is that is directed to the usage of EQ in this context......
Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
I can't understand why some on here can't wait to have a dig at SD now he's gone. He did wonders for this club during his time here. Just because VK has hit the ground running shouldn't detract from SD's achievements during his time here.
Let's give the guy a break. He'll always have my respect.

That Shaggy is a weird character, he seems to get extremely jealous of successful people like Dyche,I seem to recall he has had the same pop at the most successful Motor racing driver on the planet on the F1 threads, Lewis Hamilton, and I'm sure there are more, maybe he is just a total failure in life and just jealous of successful people, very weird individual.

Blaming Dyche on our inability to sign players is a pretty hight level of stupidity when it was well documented that Garlick wouldnt fund the transfers. In fact it is and incredibly stupid threadclaretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 10:35 amI know people are living with their agenda and trying their best to cope but blaming Everton's lack of signings this window on Dyche are reaching new levels of stupidity

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
Sean Dyche was Burnley Football Clubs most successful manager for the 50 or so years that proceeded his appointment.
Given that, it makes me wonder if people wouldn't have been quite so negative about his tenure had Vincent Kompanys Burnley reign not been as successful has it has been so far? Doubt it.

Ridiculous opening post blaming him for the transfer window, however, it is true Dyche has relatively weak pulling power and contacts. Someone else at yhe club needs to make that happen..

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
My opinion
Vincent is doing a spectacular job as we all can see ,
Sean did a fantastic job for years, when he took over we were heading one way only - down ! he established us as a club / premier league / training facility/etc yes at the end it wasn’t good as I’m sure dyche felt it too but if Dyche hadn’t laid the foundation that he did Vincent wouldn’t be anywhere near this club in league 1 or two ! We should enjoy what’s happening and not forget how we got here! Hope Sean does well as much as I’m not lean on Everton !

I find it interesting to watch Dyche handle the media bearing in mind we watched him here for 10 years. No judgement, no predictions, just find it fascinating to see how he handles it to see how it develops and to compare the scouse media approach to our journalists. that’s just natural isn’t it. Like watching an old friend who has hit the big time.

Everton have spent longer in the English top flight than any other club, and have a massive fan base (population of merseyside is 1.5 million and at least half support Everton) - so relative to Burnley they are big time in my view - but its only view

Re: The Transfer Pull of Dyche
I “liked” this post as I fully agree with the sentiment but, on a point of pedantry, I’d be very surprised if “at least half” of the population of Merseyside support Everton. I’d imagine the red “half” of Merseyside is slightly bigger, and that’s not even taking into account the fans of Tranmere etc, or the Merseysiders who don’t follow football at all.BillyIngham'sShorts wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 9:06 amEverton have spent longer in the English top flight than any other club, and have a massive fan base (population of merseyside is 1.5 million and at least half support Everton) - so relative to Burnley they are big time in my view - but its only view
That said, not all Everton fans come from Merseyside, so they probably have a fan base of more than 750k anyway, which makes my entire post a bit pointless, really

Something from someone without a vested interest?
I mean, they might be right. Equally they could just be throwing Garlick under a bus.
FWIW I think you can throw blame for our poor recruitment at all three of them.

I think it would take a special kind of intransigence about Dyche to think that the summer we spent £1 million in transfer fees as a Premier League club was anything other than Garlick's fault.
