TBH I have to season a lot of tinned soups now, due low salt campaign.

Re: Your favourite 'tinned' soup
More replies on the soup thread highlights that other people like a ‘dash of vinegar’ or ‘poured over a pie’ too, something that makes me realise I’m not as odd as some of my family think I am…..

I'm with Marney and Mee; or Me and Marney and mee are of the same mind.
Heinz Big soup beef and vegetable. Unless of course I'm with my Ribble Valley friends and I open up the special occasion Covent Garden classic Chicken.
I like to joke it's fresh because it's straight from the garden. Always gets some guffaws that one except in those circumstances where someone from Bacup manages to get past the security fence, security guards and vicious looking dogs and you have to explain where Covent Garden is......!
I'm just relieved I don't know anyone from Darwen....!
Course the joke might be better if it was Leek and potato.

Is this a joke?
Heinz Pea and Ham is one of the worst tinned soups ever. Awful mush.

Agreed, Pea and Ham, an outrage to soup lover everywhere!
I realise I have made a faux pas and Me and Marney and Mee don't have the same tastes. Marney and mee was responding to someone else and declared an affection for Heinz tomato soup. I shan't say anymore other than I've added his name to the list I give to the security guards at my home.

Heinz Pea and Ham is one of the best tinned soups ever,
Simply float any half decent firm pork or beef pie atop,
No better comfort food.

Re: Your favourite 'tinned' soup
Do people really pour soup over a pie ?? Did 2 world wars count for nothing ?! As for pea and ham , how anyone not in a nursing home can eat that is beyond me, a criminal waste of a pie .Tinned soup has a pretty low “ division 1ish” bar, though Baxter’s Port n Stilton and their French onion are workmanlike efforts in a sea of mediocrity.

The only correct answer was the first in the thread; Heinz tomato. Perfect dipping for a sandwich or cheese toastie!

Re: Your favourite 'tinned' soup
A lot of posters seem to be keen to stick a pie in their tinned soup of choice.
I thought maybe you would all be making croutons in the Air Fryer.

Re: Your favourite 'tinned' soup
If you like the Heinz one just go and try Aldi’s tomato soup.

£1.70?
Really???
Like many others I make my own soups and haven’t bought a tinned option for years. I’d estimate an average ingredient cost of around 20-45pence per serving.
