Re: Goalkeeping Coaches
Think I read somewhere that Pickford didn't want Billy Mercer at the club as he had his own preferred coaches.....

Agreed and it could be Tom Heaton's next step.

Re: Goalkeeping Coaches
Can see Pickford doing a Joe Hart. Doubt any of the top clubs would want him as first choice so another middling PL club might be his limit.
Re: Goalkeeping Coaches
I suspect he'll probably step up at United and join Killa as a GK coach there.

That was my understanding tooelwaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:05 pmThought he was already involved in the coaching side at MU, I may be wrong but I thought that was part of his original decision to re-sign there.

Re: Goalkeeping Coaches
I may be wrong but didn’t this situation arise at Bolton when Judas left us? Manager brings in new coach against the wish of the player who had a trusted and long lasting professional relationship with the existing coach?Sutton-Claret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 12:12 pmThink I read somewhere that Pickford didn't want Billy Mercer at the club as he had his own preferred coaches.....
IIRC the situation became farcical as the first choice goalkeeper continued to work with “his” coach and the new coach ended up working with everybody but him…

Re: Goalkeeping Coaches
Happened at Bolton and they had to bring the previous goalkeeping coach back. As far as I know, there is nothing similar at Everton.BurnleyPaul wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 2:19 pmI may be wrong but didn’t this situation arise at Bolton when Judas left us? Re: Goalkeeping Coaches
Looks like Mercer is in temporarily at Everton whilst their current coach is having a knee op

Re: Goalkeeping Coaches
I believe Mercer has been called in to help out whilst the regular goalkeeping coach recovers from a knee operation.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 2:22 pmHappened at Bolton and they had to bring the previous goalkeeping coach back. As far as I know, there is nothing similar at Everton.

Re: Goalkeeping Coaches
He has. Alan Kelly has gone in for a knee op and Billy has gone in to stand in for him.Blondeclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 2:37 pmI believe Mercer has been called in to help out whilst the regular goalkeeping coach recovers from a knee operation.
