Few highlights:

- might be several names missing on Saturday, little niggles and illnesses but nothing serious
- didn't entertain Barnes leaving at all in January
- Obafemi needs to get up to speed fitness wise and won't be rushed
- the new signings will get game time 'when ready'

Found the “illness” quote interesting when he was asked about injuries. Sounds like we’ll be missing more than just THB, Cork, Benson and JBG on Saturday.

Yep sounds that way. Not the most ideal game to be missing so many.

Not ideal but we have a seriously deep squad.

Not forgetting that he said he's aware that there could be even more games because we have the possibility of progressing in the cup if we can win our ties. Taking nothing for granted but they're winnable and we have the squad to cope. I think that he'd love the challenge of getting as fas as we possibly can and challenging ourselves in some big games.

anyone else think he "tolerates" Phil Bird? Not because of any antagonism or previous missteps but because he always harps back to the previous game, where for VK it's in the past. And the press conference is for the upcoming game, not a Q&A session on all things BFC

It was also noticeable when a journalist finally asked a question about Saturday how he picked up - because it was on-topic?

I think the fact the young lad was on the bench against Ipswich might suggest Muric being one those injured....big loss if I'm right we look so much better attacking with him in goal

It looked from his Instagram that Muric had been given the weekend off and had gone abroad.

Really hope he’s not injured, massive part of our attacking game like you say. Could just have been to give young Casper a taste of the first team though, after impressing that week.

Well worth a watch is that interview.

He's a superb communicator. Calm, measured, honest and to the point.

He 100% tolerates Bird. It’s pitiful what he asks or more often states.

You've no comment then on the journo asking about the 'accolade' Vincent got? Just want to have a go at an enthusiastic bloke doing his job the way he sees it? If Phil Bird's work is not up to scratch the club will tell him so.

In any case, Vincent is forthright enough to sort out the 'problem' (if indeed it exists) with Phil.

Regarding potential absentees for Saturday, I just re-watched the training video clip the club tweeted yesterday and noticed that Jay and Zaroury appeared to be missing, along with all our keepers :o

Good grief! Firstly, in my post the subject is VK, not Phil Bird, who is the object. In other words my thrust is regarding VK’s tolerance. Secondly, VK actually cited the Ipswich game as being in the past in his response, directly hinting he was not there to discuss it. Thirdly, I jump to the journo whose question was on topic to make the main thrust of my point. The segment on the award was ignored because it was not relevant to the point I was making.

However, contrary to the assertion you’re making, that I’m personally down on Phil Bird, quite the contrary, it’s a highlight of the week for me to watch the game a second time just to hear his well known characteristics and style.

I hope that clarifies things

Noticed that!........Phil Bird is a good Commentator (my favourite).
He makes me cringe at press conferences though.
&
Kompany is definitely focussed on the future.

You could well be right.
Listening to commentary vs Ipswich I couldn't help but think that the club should upgrade it.
Probably the worse I've heard this season.

Maybe and we might well be fielding a depleted side, however even if we do lose at Norwich the key factor is not to panic, we will lose games sooner or later, however as long as we react and get results against Ipswich and Preston I'll be content.

Mind you I've thought we've been due a defeat for some weeks and yet this squad keeps delivering so it would be a brave man to bet against them in aby game currently.
