We were watching the game today saying how he resembled Adams! 😅 Looks a great signing. Really pleased he got a goal.

Ive justed texted to say Ekdal reminded me of Burnley defenders from the earloy 1980's although I actually mentioned Micky Phelan as my example. Just strong, solid defending with a few touches of skill also (plus a goal on league debut). My favourite bit was when he saw Pukki closing him down and turned into him to buy the foul. Class really.

Absolutely magnificent performance. Exactly what I expected (but better). Calm, brilliant positioning, dominating and very good on the ball. What a promising start.

Looked decent enough against an average side , though was horribly outpaced for their 1 real chance . Looks another good bargain buy though and scoring on your debit is excellent.

Interested in how he compared to last week’s debutant, a game I didn’t see.

Re: the one time he was caught out, Pukki has outstripped many very top end PL defenders over the years, running to that goal-line is what he does very well. I’m not remotely concerned.

If that was how you put it then you wouldn't have got any grief.

What you said about Taylor was:-

"Hes been terrible
Gives ball away
Looks disinterested
Holds onto ball too long..i breathe a deep breath when he gets the ball and is being pressed"

The final statement can be discussed, as I certainly would have THB with Beyer every game but the first three are just disrespectful.

You make it sound like you were a lonely voice in the wilderness . You probably had a couple of posters with a differing opinion in reality but continue playing the martyr if it makes you feel better.
Ekdal did look good and reminded me of Roeder ( the player )

Swedish fans were calling him Hjaldini when we signed him. Whether paired with Beyer or Al-Dakhil, he's going to be massive.

I meant that pretty much everyone that’s debuted this season has looked assured and quality - ie it’s not been a ‘long time’ since such an assured debut - we’re flying

I watched a couple of utube video’s of him and they showed just what he did today.
Calm , assured, good footballer, great defender.

But it also showed he knows where to be in the box, both with his head and feet. That goal today was typical of the clips I saw.

Looks a great signing.

Just his pace is the only question for the PL.

That was my assessment too, although I thought he showed a shrewd reading of the game too.

Pace would be the question mark, but he's stepping up to a new, quicker League having not played in 3 months. When he's adjusted we'll have a better basis to judge.

Promising signs though.
