2022/23: Blackpool v Burnley – Ticket Information
Re: 2022/23: Blackpool v Burnley – Ticket Information
Ok… here’s one for the moaners…. Ask everyone to pay £100 into an away supporters membership scheme and offer free travel to our longest/ballache away games (such as a Norwich, Southampton, Milwall on a Tuesday night) where people who genuinely go to most or every away game will not lose out.
Or, just stop whining as we only have 2 or 3 games a season where this is a frigging problem!!!

Rileybobs wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 2:58 pmWe should implement a system whereby you get awarded 100 loyalty points per game multiplied by a factor of how many miles you live away from the venue. So for example, if you live 82 miles from the venue you get awarded 100 loyalty points multiplied by 0.82 - and therefore are awarded 82 loyalty points for that particular game. The less loyal fans who don't travel as far, say for example someone who lives just 4 miles from the ground, would get 4 loyalty points.
I would also introduce a 'green incentive', so travelling by car would carry a penalty which further diminishes the points, but travelling on foot, by train or supporters coach would be rewarded with a points multiplier. So far example the person who lives 4 miles away could walk to the game and receive a loyalty points multiplier of 5, bringing their points total to 20, whereas the person who is on 82 loyalty points has a tough decision, as if they drive they would be penalised by a factor of 0.2, whereas the more expensive train would only carry a penalty of a factor of 0.8. Then we could maybe take people's household income into account, technically the more wealthy people are less loyal so they get rewarded less than those who have to scrimp and save for a ticket - I just haven't figured out how we would do that yet. Then we just need a way to make sure that kids can't attend away games.
Either that or we just keep it the same.

Re: 2022/23: Blackpool v Burnley – Ticket Information
Is it a % or a flat number of tickets that our supporters clubs take?
Either way, can someone enlighten me how many tickets are taken out of the general sale pool by them?

It's the club that take tickets out for players and staff.
The supporters clubs can only buy for people with enough points. Bit like you getting 20 Clarets.nos together from mates and buying at once so you can sit together.

Could introduce an away season ticket? Other clubs have one and then those like myself who go to the majority of away games don’t have to worry about potentially missing out to a loyalty system that needs updating.

Tickets are held back for certain people, sponsors for example, they get what they want.

Of course the method employed for the allocation of away tickets is not perfect ….. but it’s the fairest one we have until someone comes up with a better alternative ( I’ve yet to see one yet by the way ) . By and large the system works reasonably well for the majority ….. although I appreciate that for some ‘ popular fixtures ‘ there can be issues , particularly for a parent with enough points who wants to take their child who doesn’t have enough points ,to certain away fixtures .On the positive side, as someone has already mentioned , there are other ‘less fashionable fixtures’ where everybody can be accommodated . Thus the question needs to be asked ….Do we need to change a system that everybody understands for one that more than likely would introduce complexity and still not suit everybody, just to satisfy a minority’s demand to be accommodated at a handful of fixtures ?

2 year rolling away loyalty points
Start from scratch and then base loyalty on season ticket plus away matches
Many options.

Yes there are options ….. However I’ve yet to see one better than the existing one ……and certainly not one that doesn’t itself harbour its own unfairness that would undoubtedly upset others …..Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:13 pmAway season ticket

Maybe those who don’t get to go to as many away games should be given a higher priority than those who go to every away game. After all they haven’t enjoyed as many away games.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:36 pmJust can’t see how it’s fair that people who never / rarely go away get the same priority as a season ticket holders who goes to most away games, for example.

Better than a system that allows fans to receive tickets with only 1500 points because they belong to a supporters group

The top tier is 6000 points and a season ticket. How many people can that really be. Maybe they will need to up the tiers if it's a lot

It’s a fair point but as so often in life things are often not perfect and you have to settle for ‘ best alternative ‘or next best ‘. Things will probably settle down when we start losing games ….. oh hang on a minute ….Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:36 pmJust can’t see how it’s fair that people who never / rarely go away get the same priority as a season ticket holders who goes to most away games, for example.

Re: 2022/23: Blackpool v Burnley – Ticket Information
I've spent years collecting points and finally hit the 6k mark around 23/24 years old. I've missed 4 away games in the past 2 season but If it got upped and I had to do it again then so be it. It's a flawed system but it's the fairest one we have. People who travel to the most away games should be able to get first choice. Maybe we need to start having % of away games made over a time period insteadAGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:44 pmCan't wait for it to rise to 10k and all those above 6k but under 10k start crying when the shoe is on the other foot

I do think however a adult should be able to get a under16 ticket alongside without the child needed the points. Unfair to limit them when they are so young as long as they with a adult who has the requirement

You would have to ask them.
There's quite a few who go on their own on supporters coaches but have friends on the coach they would like to sit with.

I appreciate that your "5 year rolling loyalty points" system is trying to get round a specific problem....but a by-product of this system is that someone who has never actually watched a Burnley game (home or away) prior to 2017 (since when we have played either in the Premier League or at the top of the Championship for one season only) could have a better chance of getting tickets than someone who has watched the club for 50 years and been amassing loyalty points since 2005 during which time we have had plenty of tough seasons in the Championship.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:36 pmJust can’t see how it’s fair that people who never / rarely go away get the same priority as a season ticket holders who goes to most away games, for example.
If that is fair .....well I can't think of anything sufficiently impossible to illustrate just how unfair it is.

It should be more points for going away games. I've been ipswich an norwich in the space of a week an gained 20 points haha
Re: 2022/23: Blackpool v Burnley – Ticket Information
does take **** tho, my daughter missed one away game all season (she’s 14) but obv not 6000 points so she misses out on blackpool. she went spurs last season on a sunday 12 kick off, going millwall tues night.
my point it’s impossible for her to get the required points but she travels all season not just local away games.
