Well, none of us got it right vs Norwich :D

Big chunk of games coming up in the league including a tricky next 4, I want us fit and fresh for those, while this team is still very strong to beat Ipswich.

BPF
Vitinho
Ekdal
Al-Dakhil
Taylor
Cork
Bastien
Churlinov
Twine
Zaroury (early ish sub for Tella/JBG)
Foster

The first thing we need to do is win the game.

A couple of changes from the tried and trusted. Win the game and then we can use the bench.

Just build a team around anyone back from injury or illness, or in need of game time. We have a squad that needs staying on its toes.

He may go with Beyer and Dakhil again to give them another game together.

Play Foster in his preferred position, give Dakhil and Taylor some minutes, give Bastien, Twine and Churlinov another chance to force their names into contention

No hasn’t been an update since Kompany said it’s not a bad one

Regarding Twine. It seems he can't break into the team at the moment. If he does do which position would he play? No doubt find out on Tuesday. Oh I see behind the front one or two.

Ekdal looked very tired by the end yesterday. Would go with Al-Dakhil and Beyer

Is Tella OK. Assumed he was taken off as a precaution

Not sure Twine has the physicality to start. Would go with Brownhill and introduce Twine later on

Definitely start Foster

Hopefully will have worked out a more effective way to counter Ipswich second time around. Get our full backs further forward to support the wide players. We were relatively easy to defend against at Portman Road

Plenty of recovery time after the match, we need to go with a strong side but rest a few players where we can and give some important game time to others like Taylor, Bastien, Churlinov and Twince.

BPF
Roberts Dakhil Beyer Taylor
Cork Bastien
Churlinov Twine Zaroury
Barnes

Subs: Casper, Ekdal,Tella, Vitinho, Foster, Brownhill, Maatsen

Looking at the fixtures list Ipswich have a massive game coming up this weekend so I wouldn’t be surprised if they also rested a few key players.

Home to Sheffield Wednesday.

They made 8 changes in the first game and were still competitive.

Let’s not forget he was arguably the best player in league 1 last season

No arguably about it, he won the L1 player of the year!

I’ve seen a couple of times now that ‘Twine lacks physicality for the Championship’, here it’s lacking physicality to even start a game against League One opposition at home… I’m struggling to understand the judgement on this? Where and when has it been decided exactly? Have people been watching the likes of Benson and Tella this season?

There was an interview with either VK or Bellamy in pre-season which said they were working with Twine and McNally to help them adjust to demands of the Championship

Twine's early season injury was apparently linked to that increased workload

He has started one game so far - away to Ipswich when he - along with our other attacking/creative players failed to make much of an impact

I'd suggest we need a different approach in order to impose our game on Ipswich tomorrow. If we can control the game and get ahead then that would be an ideal opportunity yo give Twine an extended run out

With his quality he's a great option from the bench. Maybe that early season injury has set back his progress and I think he will be a key member of the squad in time - but at the moment I think we have better starting options in the 10 role

The team will obviously heavily depend on who is available, but one thing I will say is that it'd be interesting to see Foster start alongside one of Barnes or Rodriguez. I'm not sure we'd play 2 out and out strikers in a league game, but I do wonder if it'd be a good way or introducing Foster to English football and what we do.

Whilst seeing your point there I doubt we'll start games with 2 up front because it reduces both our possession and the way win defend in midfield.

Possibly but we have done it with Tella coming central alongside the centre forward.

Wouldn't expect us to do it for a League game. But possibly for a cup tie.

See how the first 45 pans out, should be enough, but plenty of options on the bench to freshen it up.
If Benson is still a bit iffy, would prefer to keep JBG out of it where possible, at least one of them needs to be available for the league.
Would like to see Corky not have to play the full 90, another I'd prefer to keep fresh for the league.

Important game for us. Great chance to get to sixth round at least. Select best team to win the game just don’t risk anybody who is less than 100% fit

Long old trip from Suffolk for their lads on a Tuesday night. Can’t see more than 300/400 fans making the trip. Just watched a preview run by two Ipswich fans. They are expecting 10/11 changes from Saturday when they were lucky to get a point as Cambridge missed a penalty at 1 - 0
Bad news for them is that their midfield general Morsy is suspended so they expect to get beat. Plus they play Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

I do hope VK puts out a very strong team out to KO the strawsuckers and set up a home tie vs Sheffield (probably) as we owe them one from 1983. I would walk from Tyneside to see that one.

They've sold more than 1k, and they made 8 changes for the first game and still played well.

That's an absolutely massive game for Ipswich coming up Saturday then. Not even their most ardent fan wants them risking anyone tonight as the league and promotion is far more important to them.

Some of the U11's squad have got a cold so we've got Bertie Bee, the tea lady and one of the blokes with the food donation bins up front.

If so a great effort from Ipswich fans but hopefully Clarets fans will turn out in force too.

Indeed this will be a difficult game and as Ipswich flew to Manchester yesterday this indicates they are taking this game seriously which is why Vinny needs to as well. Hopefully having had a good look at them now and with home advantage Burnley should edge it but we will need a strong team out and not just use it to give some guys “minutes”.

Barnes played quite deep for a lot of the game, picking the ball up in what I would call an advanced midfield position.
