Re: Sheff U Easter Monday
Reckon Boro on Good Friday is almost certain to be on TV as well. Hopefully not at 12.30.

They did - I'd forgotten about that one. We lost 3-0.
It's on here too.

Re: Sheff U Easter Monday
I have a distant memory of us being on the TV in a home game v Boro where John Hendry for them scored a couple or even 3 goals.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 11:15 amThat would be a first, I don't think a game against Middlesbrough has ever previously been televised.
I am probably wrong about the TV but pretty sure Hendry played really well against us back in the 90s once as I remember wishing he played for us !!
Edit : looks like I may have not dreamt it !!

Re: Sheff U Easter Monday
He scored two at Ayresome Park on the first day of the season. He hit 15 league goals that season. One third of them against the Clarets. I told him this a few years back when I met him at the top of Pen-y-Ghent whilst walking the three peaks. He was a nice bloke and wished Burnley well that season.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 11:59 amHendrie wasn't it who scored a hattrick for them ?

Are you sure it wasn't Colin Hendry you met? I know you have form for getting these celebrities mixed up!Lord Beamish wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 12:08 pmHe scored two at Ayresome Park on the first day of the season. I've blocked the game out.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 11:59 amHendrie wasn't it who scored a hattrick for them ?
All that sticks out was it was a Sunday and Boro brought quite a small following compared to their North East neighbours.
With them being top of the league I was expecting loads.

Re: Sheff U Easter Monday
Not his first match. That was the opening day of the season at Ayresome Park. It was the home game in December that was televised. We lost 2-0 & 3-0 and Hendrie scored all five.
