Reckon Boro on Good Friday is almost certain to be on TV as well. Hopefully not at 12.30.

That would be a first, I don't think a game against Middlesbrough has ever previously been televised.

They did - I'd forgotten about that one. We lost 3-0.

It's on here too.

I have a distant memory of us being on the TV in a home game v Boro where John Hendry for them scored a couple or even 3 goals.
I am probably wrong about the TV but pretty sure Hendry played really well against us back in the 90s once as I remember wishing he played for us !!

Edit : looks like I may have not dreamt it !!

Wasn't that the away game?

The TV game was on the Turf.

That was the away game.

The home game later in the season was on TV.

Yes. That away game was the first game that season, I think.

I had to go in the home end! :o

He scored two at Ayresome Park on the first day of the season. He hit 15 league goals that season. One third of them against the Clarets. I told him this a few years back when I met him at the top of Pen-y-Ghent whilst walking the three peaks. He was a nice bloke and wished Burnley well that season.

Are you sure it wasn't Colin Hendry you met? I know you have form for getting these celebrities mixed up! ;)

I've blocked the game out.

All that sticks out was it was a Sunday and Boro brought quite a small following compared to their North East neighbours.
With them being top of the league I was expecting loads.

Not his first match. That was the opening day of the season at Ayresome Park. It was the home game in December that was televised. We lost 2-0 & 3-0 and Hendrie scored all five.
