Re: Raquel Welch dies
I’m sure she was once at a Chelsea v Burnley game in the 1970s. She’d have been in her 30s at the time.
She was stunning.

Re: Raquel Welch dies
Can't see what all the fuss was about, personally !
Got her early roles in Hollywood as a " dancer " in several of Elvis Presley's formula musicals ... I can't think the " King " would have missed her obvious charms, in his, then bachelor days ! He certainly dated Ann Margret & Ursula Andress, so Raquel would make a pretty impressive hat-trick !!

Raquel W featured in Loretta Lynn's song, 'One's on the way', contrasting pre birth control poor motherhood with the jet set.
Sadly we recently lost Loretta too.

It wasn’t - I wasn’t at a Chelsea v Leicester game. It was the first time I sat in the big news stand at Stamford Bridge which would have been 1974.

Always fascinated me how her son and Fred Trueman's daughter happened to move into the same orbit... I'm sure it's well recorded. I guess it never fascinated me enough to bother finding out!

I give up - so you are using Google search to call me a liar.
Looks as though I'm going to ask you in future to tell me who I've seen and where.

Calling someone an arse, Childish response from someone that said to "it wasn't", I proved she was at the Leicester over to you to prove she was at the Burnley gameClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 10:15 pmI give up - so you are using Google search to call me a liar.
I think it is fast coming the time to shut this board down. It's getting beyond a bloody joke when some arse tells me I didn't see someone because he';s done a Google search.
Not once did I call you a liar, infact it was more the other round
If you are getting you personal feeling in the way of running this board then maybe you should shut it down or step to one side and let someone more grown up run it

Mate, give it a rest. Why turn a thread about someone dying into an argument. It’s not a good look.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 10:30 pmCalling someone an arse, Childish response from someone that said to "it wasn't", I proved she was at the Leicester over to you to prove she was at the Burnley game

Re: Raquel Welch dies
You said she was only ever at Chelsea once (v Leicester) - I saw her at Chelsea v Burnley. To then basically tell me I'm wrong because you've used Google search is downright ridiculous. Now you accuse me of not being grown up. I really do give up.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 10:30 pmChildish response from someone that said to "it wasn't", I proved she was at the Leicester over to you to prove she was at the Burnley game

For gods sake this is a thread remembering a dead Celebrity ... Not a place to stick knives in each other ... yes she attended a (at least one) game at Chelsea why does it need to turn into a bloody willy waving contest ...
I got shouted down for posting a (Beamish style) picture a while ago and have stopped doing that ... can you two stop please .

RIP Raquel - Many a schoolboy's dream girl in the late 1960's early 1970's.
Hope this is not disrespectful but the link below is an interesting read and mentions Raquel and Peter Osgood in the early stages of this tale plus memories of Burnley when they played Chelsea in an FA Cup replay in 1970. I can remember it clearly.

The attached link states that Raquel went to quite a few Chelsea games, and these were prior to the well publicized Leicester game in November 1972.

Wasn't she miniaturised and injected into someone's body? I would have thought it might be more interesting the other way round but I don't know.

I am sure that I saw Raquel, Brigitte bardot, and Ursula Andress at a Colne Dynamos game in the early seventies but there again I was taking certain substances at the time.

Yup I was definitely on that game. The three of them were kicking off at the referee and a dog ran on the pitch and sunk it's teeth into one of the linesmans nads.Volvoclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 5:17 pmI am sure that I saw Raquel, Brigitte bardot, and Ursula Andress at a Colne Dynamos game in the early seventies but there again I was taking certain substances at the time.

I knew it was real. The dog was Rin tin tin and the grass was pink and the gate was over 40k.

Was that the game where David Attenborough turned up with his pet pteradacktyl? He was overweight and got replaced at half time by Gordon honeycombe.Volvoclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 6:51 pmI knew it was real. The dog was Rin tin tin and the grass was pink and the gate was over 40k.
