Tunnel Bust Up

Post by Sharbtastic » Sat Feb 18, 2023 8:43 pm

Did something happen in the tunnel at full time, a fan said they were fighting but couldn’t see anything other than the protective cover shaking a bit.

The commentators said Barnes and two of Lutons backroom staff were having a do with each other after the final whistle, but it didn't show the tunnel.

Saw that, it was blown up out of all proportion.

Nobody will get the better of Ashley Barnes.

No, a bit more than that, in fact a lot more......But, as expected Ashley came out on top.

Bellamy was absolutely furious (red faced raging) with someone at the end of the game on the pitch, couldn’t see who it was as camera panned away.

I noticed that as well

He definitely didn’t look happy and there were a few stewards in the vicinity

Good lad Ashley.
Yes, with our current injury list, it would be great for him to pick up some kind of retrospective ban.
This isn't criticism of Barnes by the way, since I've no idea what happened and whether it was avoidable, and nothing may come of it, but for anyone to be praising him for getting involved in something unnecessary with all these games coming up seems a bit odd.
Never thought I'd be saying this but Barnes is turning out to be a v important player for us at this tough point in a long season.
Let's hope it was something and nothing, since he's already been charged once this season.

Retrospective ban ?.......Are you serious ?

Ash was completetly the innocent party and yet he still came out on top.

Barnes is Burnley through and through, and be grateful for that fact.

The whole of the Luton team did today to be fair. Apart from scoring the penalty he was completely ineffective and was probably our worst player on the pitch today

I said that I hoped there was nothing to it, as I hadn't seen it, but we know Barnes has a bit of a reputation and the authorities will find any excuse to punish him.If "he came out on top" then there was clearly something but hopefully your interpretation is correct and will prevail.

He scored the penalty in a 1-0 win..... and was a massive influence on all his teammates.

You really need to understand that.

I don't need to understand owt thanks. He was poor today but as I said on the match thread once we had the penalty there isn't another player I'd want to take it.

Barnes slows our play down in the false number 9 role and I think we are really starting to miss Jay

That might be your interpretation DA, but not that of all serious minded Burnley fans.

I can assure you 100% that no player is more committed to Burnley Football Club than Ashley Barnes, no matter what his limitations as a player.

Never said he isn't committed and think he's a top bloke and will be brilliant around the squad.

Having him as a regular starter is what concerns me as he stifles the fluidity of our play and it's started to show the last couple of games

Chill out sounds like you've been having a few whiskeys to celebrate the win 🥴

It's not that difficult to be happy with a win and still have an opinion on the team and players performances without it all being 100% positive. It is a message board after all

After another three points, a whiskey is more than acceptable.

If only you could converse with the other players in our team, you would 100% understand how important Ash is in to be included in the starting eleven. They love him to bits and he would always be the first player on their teamsheet, no matter what the main man VK might select.

Now I'm home (with another whiskey), can't tell how much that three points meant to me.

DA, please tell me you understand the point I'm desperately trying to drive home about Ashley ?

He is crucial to everything the Club stands for and thanfully, VK accepts that more than anyone.

No, I think Barnes was poor today and it seems people have gone back to thinking him throwing himself about and battling hard is worthy of a good performance.

He's had a couple of great games recently but ultimately I think he slows down our play and our football isn't as fluid and as good with him up top instead of Jay.

How's Muric doing? You finally stopped slagging him off every game yet boo boy

Perhaps he's the wind-up merchant that so many indicate ?

My post was nothing to do with Barnes. 100% about the demise of Leeds. As for Muric I marked him a 10 v PNE a low mark v Watford when he was Ill and a 7 today. Hardly a boo boy. What marks did you give him lol

We've done enough talking for tonight Royboy. I'm tired and your support and passion for Barnes is admiral so enjoy you whiskeys and have a good night mate ;)
And you too, buddy.

But we need to resume this tomorrow......I'm not happy.

FC Burnley.......are you in California ?.....Must be so difficult trying to follow us from so far away ?

At least you seem genuine, unlike this DA character that everyone recognisea as a fraud except me ?

Were you originally from Burnley......Burnley College perhaps ?

Why does it matter if people are originally from Burnley?
Surely all fans from far and wide are welcomed?

Ahh I did think.the Luton manager stayed out for a prolonged period clapping their fans, and it was something i noticed, which normally I wouldn't have.

Cheers FC Burnley.....Struggle to understand how that passion is managed from so far away ?

Personally, couldn't manage it, too important to me.......but fair play to you.

Did you depart when Mac was in his prime ?..........Even more difficult to comprehend, but then again I've had a few whiskies after that brilliant win today Luton.......You must miss not being there ?
