Warnock post match

Post by 4:20 » Sat Feb 25, 2023 5:23 pm

Fair play to him, was extremely complimentary towards us, knows the craic.

"he's got Barnsey playing like Pele"

Brilliant.

Warnock's no fool and he'd have expected to lose today, the bonus for him and Huddersfield is that those around them also lost.

Don't rule out teams like Birmingham and QPR yet being brought into the relegation mix, both are on dreadful runs and some of the sides below have a game in hand,

Fair play to him. I haven’t heard the interview yet but you could see his gracious comments to Vinny at the end.

Cracked me up when he said, "I think every manager would like a better group (of players) wherever they are... but they're trying hard" :D :D

We played really well but I’d be pretty ****** off if was a Huddersfield fan at the game. I’d at least expect my team to get a bit of sweat on their shirts.

Warnock came across as blasé before the game - his team turned up with no fire in their bellies, defeated before the game kicked off. I’ve never seen Warnock so quiet during a game. He was laughing and joking with Jepson - what’s happened to his passion?

The least you expect from a Warnock side is effort - their first half display was devoid of “the minimum requirement”. As good as we were, they were bloody awful.

Wednesday will be a prove to be a bigger challenge than Town and Warnock could muster today.

I don't think I've seen a Burnley side ever play as well as they did today in that first half.

We were brilliant.

First half we had 82% possession and 89% pass success. For a Championship side that's phenomenal.

We should have a caption competition for what he said to VK at the end. I can imagine “well played son, brilliant football. You’re a talented lad and you’re clearly going to the very top”

We were good but by Christ they were poor. I thought they would at least try to disrupt and shithouse us a a bit, but they didn’t even do that. Genuinely didn’t know what their plan was today.

This is true - it was a mystery to me as each of Watford, Luton, and Millwall had shown how “shithousing” could disrupt us. But at the same time that we were allowed to play by Huddersfield, my word didn’t we take advantage

I think part of his reasoning for retirement was to stop him having a heart attack, I’m sure I read his wife was concerned about that. He didn’t look to be ranting and raving today but that might be because deep down he didn’t expect to get anything from todays game. He says it like it is though.

Burnley Express reproduce Colin's Comments

Post by IanMcL » Sun Feb 26, 2023 6:46 pm

Spoke of Burnley being best side he has seen, in the Championship, in his 25 years. In raptures about Barnes and Gudmundsson. Describes our wingers as the best - in in the Prem etc.

It is apparent that 'Barnesy' (Pele) has a very positive relationship with young Zaroury. The 2 are always quick to praise the other and Barnes caught Zaroury in the air, after the goal yesterday.

Great for them. Great for the team. Great for us.

Perhaps our Ashley has a new driving pal!

At the moment, Ash is both unplayable and undroppable. Absolutely the first name on the team sheet. Lets hope he continues with this form as seeing him come out onto the pitch at Deadwood see's us start the game 2 up before a ball is kicked.

When Ash caught Zaroury he said,”Your goal”. It was easily lip read on sky highlights.
