I'd love Luton or Millwall to win the play-offs

Re: The Middlesbrough math
Hopefully I’ve got my maths correct but should Sheffield United drop points in any of their next 2 games, and we win our next 2, I think we would secure the title with a win against them on Easter Monday

Don’t think that is quite right but a good effortgandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 10:16 pmHopefully I’ve got my maths correct but should Sheffield United drop points in any of their next 2 games, and we win our next 2, I think we would secure the title with a win against them on Easter Monday
If Sheffield draw (e.g. against Norwich) they could be level with us if we beat them so the title wouldn’t be won even if we win all until then. They would have to lose first.
In better news, if we win our next two games we are definitely up if Luton are held to a draw in one of their next three. Failing that we would be up with a win against Sheffield in the next game (even if the title has to wait). All if we keep winning of course.
At the moment we don’t look like dropping points and I don’t think Boro can handle us. So the above is all about those other two dropping points.

Re: The Middlesbrough math
And another update. Plenty of commentary about the best possible scenario, but it wouldn’t be reet if we didn’t have the worst…
After 39 games (for them - and add Luton into this mix) and not creating fractions with draws…
If they win all 7, they have 88 points. We need to win 2
If they win 6 from 7, they have 85 points. We need to win 1
If they win 5 from 7, we don't care
So, if they beat us next Friday, we still need two wins from 7 games. I bloody love being pessimistic. Everything is up from there…

And just for the record…..
If they win all six, WDGAF
If they win five of six, WDGAF
If they win four of six, WDGAF
If they win three of six, WDGAF
If they win two of six, WDGAF
If they only win one of six, we definitely DGAF
In short, WDGAF
