The summer target has just been called up to the Holland squad.

There were rumours we were still after him in January, but I suspect the asking price is starting to rocket.

Broken into the Anderlecht first team and has been doing very well apparently. He was linked with a move to Liverpool recently.

Saw a comment a week ago in online media that this keeper would "love to join Burnley."

Let's see what happens over the summer.

I think he said he'd have loved to sign for us while saying he was now happy he'd stayed at Anderlecht.

A case if yes please, however, nothing against my current club, honest.

Seen him linked to Liverpool, Man United and Real Madrid recently for £10m - £12m.

Quite. It’s making these moves twelve months or so earlier (hence the links last summer) that is probably the key - risk and reward type signings, which appears to be our model now.

We've looked in the right places before, we nearly got Robertson from Hull, but Silva wouldn't sanction the sale because West Ham had signed the other lad.
6mths later Robertson went to Liverpool

Wonder if we’re thinking about a double swoop for including his sister, Lisa, for the women’s team…

£12m may seem a lot but it seems we would be very likely to at least double our money on him in a year or 2.

First team football in the premier league would be a pull, as well as Vinny. I’m sure both party’s would be of the opinion this would be a stepping stone move.

Bart and Muric, dream team of keepers with one to go for £50m in a couple of seasons and one to stay for another couple of seasons while we develop young Franchi.

I'd be surprised if we spent 12M on a goalkeeper.

Is this some insider info?

I’ve heard various things. One being Muric was first choice and our interest in Verbruggen forced through a deal, another being that he didn’t get a WP.

For the record, I’d love us to sign him. Can’t think he’d be #1 in favour of Muric though, so maybe a loan back to Anderlecht for a season?

I understood he was prime target at the time. He was Kompany's keeper.

I think the Muric announcement video suggests we anticipated signing Bart before Muric. (rewatch if you don't remember).

Hope we have a deal lined up him given how highly thought of he seems to be.

I saw him play recently for Anderlecht vs Ludogorets. At that point he seemed to be starting to get games in the cups but not the league if I remember. May well just be squad rotation but could be being played with the intention to make him more eligible for a work permit and a big money move this summer.

He didn't particularly stand out in that game, which for a teenage keeper playing in Europe is probably a very good sign.

Anderlecht was a great day/evening out for those on here inclined to take in some European games. The Kompany link probably made us more welcome.

I watched him in a league game, AD. Conceded three, two late, which would make you think he had a bad game but it could’ve been 6 without him.

Commanded the box brilliantly.

Went long with every kick though, to mixed effect.

Good sign that he's playing in the league now. I think the long ball thing was tactics more than anything. They looked a very badly coached side when I saw them. They kept going long to Slimani who looked a shadow of the player Leicester spent money on a few years ago. Only went through because Ludogorets were worse.

When I said he didn't stand out when I saw him, I've just remembered that the game went to penalties and he saved all three. Anderlecht went through 3-0 on pens. Shows what a couple of local Belgian 8 per centers can do to the memory!

Some of the things that Peacock Farell did v Man City (I went to the game and watched it again on recorded) will have conclusively told VK he would be a big risk in the PL. Most PL clubs have two really good keepers and to add Bart to our squad and sell GPF would be very smart business with brilliant competition within the two keepers. A great keeper can easily gain you 10 points a season in the PL

Nixon is reporting that we still want him but Anderlecht want £15m. Quite a price jump from the 6 they wanted last summer! United and Liverpool also keen:

Tbf he looks to have had a pretty decent season. At his age and his ability i could see them getting north of 10m

Yeah hard to see it. But with him already getting linked to big clubs we might see 10 or so as value - a good season at Prem level / become the Netherlands number 1 and very quickly you could be looking at a 30m+ fee.

I don’t know. Just like you don’t know. But we know we were very close to signing him in the summer and now there are reports we will be going back in for him again.

No, I don't know. Im suggesting we won't sign a keeper for £10m - £15m full stop. I know we were apparently close to signing him but that's irrelevant now.

Clearly VK wants him , not sure we will go the the prices stated though for a keeper . Our keeper is going to be a big player for us with the ball as Muric has been this season, is he better at “generic goalkeeping” than Muric , I’ve no idea but another link suggests he’s highly thought of.

I’ve only watched one game, but I thought he looked very good. Some great saves and commanded the box brilliantly. Saves were Schmeichel-esque and commanding of the box very much reminiscent of Pope.

He kicked it long nearly every time though, which looked tactical actually, and his kick was huge. Nearly landed in the opposite box every time. Not an immediate starter perhaps, but an immense talent we should be looking to secure.
