Muric 8 - Some keeper is Muric, still can’t believe some of the stick he was getting earlier on

Roberts 7
Ekdal 6
Beyer 8
Maatsen 8 - think some of his ultra quick, pinpoint passing goes in noticed at times.. crucial to how we play
Cullen 8 - Mr Consistent
JBG 7
Vitinho 7
Tella 10* - doesn’t stop running and just fabulous finishing. That is what kills teams off clinical finishing and pouncing on mistakes. Sign him on
Zaroury - 6 over thinking it a bit I feel
Barnes 7 - more great pressing and leadership from Ash the Bash. What a hero

Cork 7
Benson 7

Muric 8 - felt he deserved a clean sheet
Roberts 7 - energetic, almost a nice assist for JBG
Ekdal 6 - struggled tonight, got skinned a few times
Beyer 7 - pick of our defenders
Maatsen 7 - struggled all night against Ebowei but +1 for an absolutely dream of a cross for Tella
Cullen 8 - standard, brilliant player
JBG 6 - thought he was off his game, bit sloppy and should have scored
Vitinho 6 - works hard but offers little and struggles with basic passing
Tella 10* - best player on the pitch even without his hattrick
Zaroury 7 - wasteful but wants to create
Barnes 7 - mixed bag, part of some lovely football at times but also guilt of some sloppy final third play

Taylor 6 - poor for their goal
Benson 6 - good to see him back
Cork 6 - fine

Great result in difficult conditions. Hull caused us more problems than we might like though and I felt defensively we weren’t as switched on as usual, offering them too much space (that we can’t give to City). Generally dominant enough on the ball albeit a bit sloppy at times in the final third. Tella on fire.

Muric 8 - some great stops, a bit of iffy distribution but no chance with the goal
Roberts 7 - didn’t really notice him, a good thing?
Ekdal 6 - struggled at times, adapting, shrugged off for their good chance
Beyer 7 - also shrugged off for their good chance, can look a little lightweight at times
Maatsen 6 - poor first half but improved and set up a goal
Vitinho 7 - energetic but lacks the craft of Benson and co on that wing
Cullen 8 - pocket dynamo ran the game
JBG 8 - poise, great delivery, was everywhere
Zaroury 6 - his first full season of any note and he looks to be feeling the pace a bit, shame he is flying off soon as he needs a rest
Barnes 9 - knitted it all together
Tella 10 - great finishing and set up a lot on his own, simply too hot to handle

Taylor 6 - looks to be struggling keeping sharp
Benson 7 - what was that pillok doing with that tackle on 92 mins with the game gone? Hopefully Benny is ok.
Cork 7 - calm

Not our most fluent but still won easily. We are too hot for opponents up front. I do have some concerns about the defence but we don’t yet know if these are the starters next season so let us see. Hull got a few too many clear chances for my liking. The only immediate issue though is when not if we get the silverware.

Muric 7 good all round feet and hands
Roberts 7 lively and energetic
Ekdal 5 struggled a bit , skinned, nearly gave pen and slow
Beyer 7 smooth and unruffled
Maatsen 6 not great at the back but some sweet balls
Cullen 7 ticked it over well nice and tidy
JBG 5 invisible at times
Vitinho 6 ok 1st half faded
Tella 10 great hat trick
Zaroury 6 not his night but ok 1st half
Barnes 7 cart horse slow but will leave with head high.

Subs none really involved though MB looked sharp enough

Roberts 7
Beyer 9. Class

Maatsen 6. Every diagonal ball beat him, not his best defensive display tonight.
Cullen 8. Our engine, always wanted the ball.

Tella 9. Just clinical.
Barnes 8.5 Thought he was outstanding tonight, one touch passing, dropping off etc just a superb centre forward performance.

Muric 8 - Thought he was brilliant tonight
Roberts 7
Beyer 9 - just on a different level
Ekdal 7 - classy but slow
Maatsen 6 - quality going forward, got the runaround from their winger
Cullen 8 - superb as usual
JBG 7 - knackered at the end
Vitinho 7 - quite busy tonight, bit better
Tella 9 - As soon as he cut inside that defender I was already celebrating, clinical
Zaroury 6
Barnes 8 - another big shift

Taylor 6
Benson 6

Hull weren’t bad at times, probably deserved their goal. Muric made some good saves, we got some blocks in but just had more class in their box. I know it’s repetitive even saying it, but Beyer and Cullen are way too good for the Championship. Enjoyable evening.

Muric - 8 - I really hope fans can see him as a sweeper. Players misplace passes all the game. We should just accept this and he’s no different. Massive part of why we are so good

Roberts -8 magnificent again

Beyer - 7 solid

Ekdal - 7 solid

Maatsan- 8 - that cross

Cullen - 8- standard

JBG- 7- grew into the game

Zaroury - 7 ran then

Vithino- 7 as above

Barnes -8 - great shift

Tella - 10- scares defenders to death . He is getting better too. Sign ✍️ him on asap

He was. Midfield and defending and nearly as a scorer. It's just a shame he didn't get the goal that would have completed his night when he slightly mis-controlled near goal giving a defender the chance to tackle. Perhaps if he'd hit it first time maybe? But he's been a revelation these past few months, cutting out most of the crap and showing what a good footballer we know he is. I'm sure we are all really pleased for him.

From TV.

Muric 8 - some really good saves, especially the first one from a shot where he got down amazingly fast to save right beside him. Some misplaced passes but Hull pressurised us more then most teams.

Roberts 7 - Defended fairly well with good support from Vitinho. Not as effective as usual going forward.

Ekdal 7 - We looked unusually shaky at the back and I think that was mostly down to Ekdal. He didn’t seem quite ‘on the ball’ as usual. It’s possible his shoulder injury affected him later but Hull had a few too many free headers for my liking.

Beyer 8 - Good game. Held things well at the back and drove forward as usual despite the area in front of him being more crowded then normal.

Maatsen 7 - He had the hardest task defensively and struggled. Got very little support against Hulls best forward. As mentioned by others, his efforts to deal with Hull’s diagonal balls were poor. However his movement and final pass for the superb second goal was excellent so I have to give him an extra point.

Cullen 9 - He was everywhere holding it all together. As well as his availability, receiving, passing he was tackling and even had a shot which he kept low. What a player.

JBG 7 - Wasn’t as effective as of late but still contributed to a very good team performance.

Vitinho 8 - I like the way he plays. He helped Roberts, was available for passes, allows Tella to play more freely. He can’t seemed to create space for crosses but I think he’s important to how we played last night.

Zaroury 6 - Unlike other players he seems to be going backwards. Little support for Maatsen, the odd good cross and movement but a lot of poor decision making. On one occasion he had the ball just inside their box and opted to have a go at a difficult shot which didn’t come off, yet Maatsen was just out the area with loads of room to line up and shoot - a good opportunity missed. This happens too often. He looked like a threat, and he’s certainly marked heavily, but not much threat materialised. He’s young though and we know he can do it.

Barnes 9 - Would be 10 if he hadn’t mis-controlled a goal scoring opportunity. He was excellent all over the pitch.

Tella 10 mom - Another hat trick, three top finishes. He really is progressing and we are learning how best to use his qualities. Unfortunately the more he does this the less likely we are to get him to stay. I’m also concerned that we are starting to rely on him for goals, but that’s not Tella’s problem. He’s becoming an exciting player that people will pay to watch.

Cork 7 - Slotted in to see the game out. At least one obligatory foul!

Taylor 6 - Our defence seemed weaker when he came on but that may also be because we were seeing out the game and Hull were pushing up.

Benson 6 - Did nothing but it’s good to see him back.

I felt a bit uncomfortable about this game. Hull had four players pressing our defenders and prevented them from playing the ball about as they are used too. Maatsen was asked to play more of a full back role instead of the semi-midfield one of late. All this meant we found it more difficult then usual to work the ball forward. The negative for Hull was that it left some space elsewhere. Eventually we seemed to adapt and were able to open up a Hull defence that doesn’t concede at home. Hull look like an improving and capable side and caused us problems in defence. However we were clearly superior and thanks to Tella’s superb finishing we won this game pretty comfortably in the end.

I thought we were below our best yesterday, but we still ran out comfortable winners. We gave the ball away far more often than of late. It could have been Hull providing more of a challenge, but a few players looked below par, given the recent very high standards. (hence, my marks may be a bit low)

Muric 7 - a couple of very solid saves but occasional dodgy distribution
Roberts 7 - a quiet game for Roberts
Breyer 8 - excellent defending with real quality. Saved Ekdal with a great tackle
Ekdal 6 - struggled at times, particularly with any pace
Maatsen 7 - plus 1 for an incredible ball for Tella's second. Also struggled at times with Hull's wing play
Cullen 7 - reliable and effective as ever - I just wish he would shoot when on the edge of the box
Vitinho 6 - bags of effort, but the final ball was lacking at times
JBG 6 - he sometimes goes missing in this central role and he was very quiet yesterday. Poor shot when he should have scored.
Tella 9 - (mom) excellent. He's on fire. Fantastic positional play and deadly finishing. Wonderful to see.
Barnes 7 - good link up play, but his poor control in the box cost him a chance (like Saturday)
Zaroury 6 - Indifferent delivery and he's lost his shooting boots - saving them for City, hopefully

From tv
Muric 8 he really is becoming a good keeper
Roberts 7 few early misplaced passes then back to normal
Ekdal 7 steady away
Beyer 8 his breaks into midfield create so many attacking options
Maatsen 7 still a bit dodgy defensively, but his cross for the second was top notch
Vitihno 7 hard working again
Cullen 8 main man again midfield
JHG 7 some sharp passing
Zaroury 7 some great skills
Barnes 7 some good first time lay offs
Tella 9* I only hope we can keep him somehow

Benson 7 bring him back slowly
Cork 7 solidifies midfield
Obafemi 7 adapting well.
Hull were a good team with plenty of skill but we just did what we always do....pass, pass, pass, then attack with pace and precision. Then, with Tella in your team you know we are going to score.
