What is everyone's thoughts on what we need next season, personally we need a strong ball winner in midfield along side Cullen, also another forward and I think we will be ok.

2 midfielders, 1 winger, 1 striker minimum. Depends if we get any of these loan lads back

What we want and what we get are two different stories, I just hope the transfer business we do is not at the last minute like in the past.

the club is unrecognizable from 1 year ago, we won't be doing anything like we did in the past

Late transfer dealings is commonplace irrespective of what the buying club wants to do. We are likely to experience it even more in the PL.

Zaroury was a late deal but I'm glad the timing didn't put us off.

2 extremely good midfielders. It’s normally our weak point in the PL. We will be nowhere near good enough without strengthening midfield properly.

Personally these are the three players I would love to bring in:

Scott (Bristol City) this lad will play for England.
Le Fee (Lorient) I really rate this guy, good dribbler, breaks lines with his passes (cheap mans David Silva).
Tresor (Genk) left wing competition for Zaroury.

If there is any money left I would go for Danso at CB from Lens. He’s an absolute unit.

We will experience it more without doubt you are spending more money & with that brings doubt indecision & hesitation & players stall mulling offers over especially if there's demand for their services, it's only commonplace really away from the top end, usually the heavyweights go out & have things sewn up rapid agreements are in principle before the window even opens no messing about it.

I would love to see Joey Barton in this team. We need a Joey Barton and creative midfielder with pace as our priorities. We also need to keep Tella, Maatsen and Beyer. Still not convinced about Foster and Obefami so possibly a striker with an eye for goal like Gyokeres.

I agree with much of the above. I’d possibly be looking at another right back and back up for left back, if we keep Maatsen.

Not sure about Barton, he’s 40 and not played for a good few years now.

We know Taylor can do the job so providing we don't sell him then we have back up if Maatsen can't cut it next season.

Can he? He was pretty poor last season and arguably Pieters performed better. Plus he doesn’t suit this system at left back. Think we need Maatsen and another left back, I’ve suggested Ryan Manning at Swansea who’s been excellent for them this season and is out of contract.

Maatsen has been so much better defensively recently but we still need:
Back up keeper / one to push muric
Left back
2 cms
Winger/10
Striker

Players to leave
Peacock-Farrell
Franchi
Taylor
Thomas
Bastien
McNally (loan or sale to Coventry)
Twine (loan
Churlinov
Jay rod
Barnes (undecided if he’s warranted being kept around)
Richardson
Weghorst

You like to have a pop at Taylor but he's rarely put a foot wrong in his time here.

Maatsen has been great especially as we are by far the best team in the league dominating play and he's such an attacking full back. Doesn't alter my view of Taylor though.

Not really, always a big fan of his under Dyche. Was below his high standards last season and I think it’s clear he doesn’t really suit what we are doing under VK? That’s not having a pop, just an observation.

Probably depends on the budget if VK wants to buy certain players we have on loan like Tella, Maatsen and Beyer - presume Harwood Bellis will be out of range then it will take a good chunk of the budget without strengthen the team !! We probably have to decide on Ob from Swansea and then there's Woug and his future. IF it was possible how much do you think the above 4 would cost ?? 🤔

We might get THB and Maatsen on loan hopefully. I think it would work well for the clubs involved.

Of those remaining from under Dyche, Taylor is in my view the least suited. Good player but not quite quick enough in possession to move the ball as we need.

If we get some business done early this window, I think we can finally put to bed the myth that we HAD to do the majority of our business at the end of the window.

I think Beyer looks good enough to be playing as a deep lying midfielder. For me he would playing there, if and when Harwood Bellis is back in the team.

He’s certainly been under par of late - almost seems to be trying too hard and just needs to concentrate on getting all of the basics right.

And if we don’t I doubt very much it will be the same reasons as the past transfer windows.

The other thing is that people think this issue is just our club. The last transfer window was awful for many clubs. Look at those lot down the road. Not only did they leave it till the last day administration errors cost them a couple of loan signings.

I doubt there is a club in the country who does not want to get their business early. If it was that easy there would not be a whole media industry around transfer deadline day !!

They were very good. But £5.50 a pie hurt. My half time beer & pie round for 4 cost 50 quid.

And yes, an athletic centre mid and a upgrade on AB/JR would be most welcome in the summer.

A right back - linked to Max Johnstone on a free form Motherwell .

VK will play what he considers to be his best team for each game and some players will be out of their perceived 'natural' position so don't be surprised if we have more than two CB's on the field at the same time.
