Today's footie 19.3
Blades-Rovers 1st up, I'd like a Blades for 2 reasons, firstly it might distract them in the league, secondly I for one don't want Rovers at Wembley.

The game I will enjoy. The result itself, not bothered either way. Just want Brighton to get to the final for personal financial reasons.

Blades will be up for it, the million pound they make from the semi could stop admin.

That's the truth, especially with automatic promotion beginning to look less certain; without a cash injection from somewhere, they could be in deep dodah.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 11:52 amBlades will be up for it, the million pound they make from the semi could stop admin.

Re: Today's footie 19.3
Given by Tierney on VAR, I don't think the on field ref was going to award it.
1-1 with a stunner.

Re: Today's footie 19.3
usually it is only PL grounds, however it's in operation at all grounds from the quarter-finals onwards.claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 12:29 pmOnly put the game on now as Sheff Utd equalised, so missed the penalty. Is VAR in operation? I thought it was only at Premier League grounds?

Re: Today's footie 19.3
Not wanting any favours for the Horse fans, but surely that should be a 2nd yellow for Robinson?
Re: Today's footie 19.3
Sheff lucky to have 10 men on the field.
Re: Today's footie 19.3

Re: Today's footie 19.3
1-1 at the break, and as tight and fiercely contested as you'd expect between 2 of the better Championship sides.
Probably be totally wrong but it would surprise me if this finishes 11 a side, and every chance it will go to extra time judging by that first half.

Re: Today's footie 19.3
VAR is used from this stage of the competition onwards. I'm sure there's an obvious answer but what would happen if Grimsby were at home and don't have the VAR facilities/equipment? What if a team from non-league made it this far?

Re: Today's footie 19.3
Really enjoying this game both teams want it and not much in it end to end proper cup tie.
Re: Today's footie 19.3
I would've loved to have seen us compete in the quarters at this level. Alas, final boss battle it was. Cheers, Alan.

It's exciting, but there's not much quality about it.

Re: Today's footie 19.3
Would have been harsh for Robinson imo, got the ball obviously, got the man with follow through but would have been harsh.
Re: Today's footie 19.3
Sheff start well, please please keep it up.
Re: Today's footie 19.3
Wow what s save
Re: Today's footie 19.3
8 players on a yellow card. Get another and they miss the semi but if they get a red they can play on semi but miss next league games !!!

Re: Today's footie 19.3
Only just started watching.
If VAR is there to correct clear and obvious errors, then that penalty decision was appalling.
Blackburn didn't even appeal for a penalty and were happy with the corner awarded.
We'd be absolutely fuming if VAR gave that against us.

Mildly irritating that we couldn’t play one of these for a place in the semis rather than Norwegian cyborg and friends.
