West Lancs and Preston.

Post by HeskethBankClaret » Sun Mar 19, 2023 8:45 pm

Hi

I’m based in Hesketh Bank and wondered if anyone around South Preston/West Lancs/Southport fancied meeting up as a group once in a while? :)

How often does the Central Lancs group run coaches? I'd be interested as I live in South Ribble.

depends on demand/cost, running to boro - pick up bamber bridge and lancaster only.

Hesketh Bank - I spent many holidays as a youngster there. We had a great aunt who had tomato greenhouses on Moss Lane (I think) In those days (1960s) there was a railway line at the bottom of her garden. Great holidays !

Do you have any details on the set off times for this one? Interested in joining from Brig.

The West Yorkshire Clarets have a monthly pub meet which switched locations each month and this pulls good numbers wherever they go.

Central Lancs Clarets no longer do meet ups. But there are alot of us living in the area, so it feels like there may be interest to start doing something similar?

Chorley / Leyland / Bamber Bridge / Hesketh Bank / Penwortham / Fulwood / Broughton. Etc etc

Please can you share if your interested and we can see if there’s enough critical mass to get something going?

Being born and brought up in Burscough I have travelled from West Lancs to the Turf and never met any Clarets fans.I joined the London Clarets and found that one of the group came from Hesketh Bank.
We now drive up from Wokingham but I think this growth of fans in West lancs and Preston is great

We get to as many away games as we can.
It all depends on numbers.

Hi Hesketh. Sorry slow reply missed your last post. I’m up for it. Would be good to see if there’s any interest from those in Chorley / Euxton / Leyland / Croston / Longton / Tarleton.
I’ll bump my post on Buckshaw Village.

I'd be interested. I'm in Hutton so Preston would be a good option to meet up - easy for people from Buckshaw etc to get to as well.

The committee for Central Lancs Clarets are expected to be meeting at 8pm next Tuesday 16th May at the Euxton Mills pub (PR7 6DJ).
Just waiting for Burnleybabe to confirm that the date has been 100% finalised.

I’d suggest this could be a good first start for us, given there will definitely be some clarets there from CLC.
Burnleybabe has also confirmed she will let all of the CLC members know about the meet up. This should also help to spread the word beyond this message board.

Appreciate where ever we set the venue it will be better for some than others, so suggest if this takes off we move venue each time to give everyone a chance.

For anyone who doesn’t know Euxton Balshaw Lane is on the Liverpool / Preston train line.
20min drive from Hesketh Bank.
20min drive from Penwortham.
6 min drive from Chorley.

Thoughts please?
