Re: Rovers away tickets
No real issue with the allocation, it's a dick move by them but it's their decision and it's within the rules. The decision by us to have a ballot is worse. There is no need to change the sales method for one game. No need for ballots or upping the points or whatever. Keeping things as they were would have been simplest and fairest.

First Derby was the 0-0 at your place in ‘05. Shite game as I remember made more entertaining through a string of pitch invaders one of which was breakdancing bollockoRoyboyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 11:22 pmGenuine conversation ?.......I'm more than happy to have a genuine conversation.
Let's hear some guidelines ?.......How far do you go back......2014 when we won at Ewood with goals from Shackell and Ings ?........or perhaps 1960 when your man Douglas scored the most disputed penalty of all time ?.......When is it ?
What’s your opinion on the allocation Royboy?

Re: Rovers away tickets
My opinion......Well I was on the Turf for that second game I referenced in 1960 when there was a crowd of over 51,000......with probably 5,000 of those from Blackburn.......So limiting Burnley to 2,000 for this game seems to me a bit poor.
Re: Rovers away tickets
See I can understand the frustrations of course, and I understand you gave us what you could but I don’t think the allocation at your place has had a bearing on this. I think this is a football decision. We know it’s a bit of a mountain to climb to get anything and we’re pulling out all the stops we can. I think the club are right to be trying to help us get a result in every way they can.Royboyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 11:34 pmMy opinion......Well I was on the Turf for that second game I referenced in 1960 when there was a crowd of over 51,000......with probably 5,000 of those from Blackburn.......So limiting Burnley to 2,000 for this game seems to me a bit poor.
I can understand the frustrations but some of the reactions from Burnley fans basically equate to “how dare they have the gall to not let us bring an army and have a party once we’re likely to already be up”… our season isn’t going to be over as soon as yours, hopefully. We’ve gotta throw the kitchen sink at trying to get into these playoffs. If that means denying a few thousand Burnley fans a day out at Ewood then what really is it to us in the grand scheme?

Have they agreed to give the guard of honour if Burnley are already Champions by then or are they waiting to make the decision nearer the time ? It could be another way to help their play off hopes, ie by mellowing our players and firing up their own ?

Regarding ballots for tickets . Was the last time the Liverpool home game after covid? What was the cut off for points and the % odds of getting a ticket? Can anyone remember?

If you think us having less fans there will help your team you are a bigger fool than we already know you are.
Seriously clutching at straws if the genuine argument of all this is to give your team a better chance. Smacks of desperation to me.

Anyone who was a 2020/21 season ticket holder and had already renewed for the 2021/22 season was eligible to enter the ticketing ballot.northeastclaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 12:03 amRegarding ballots for tickets . There were 3500 tickets available, and the club advised that over 10,000 people had renewed.

Re: Rovers away tickets
Joking apart, these 2k tickets shouldn't go in a ballot for a luck of the draw chance to be allocated a ticket, my way would be to look back over this and last seasons sales and offer the tickets to those that have travelled the most, and before anyone jumps all over me I wouldn't be one of these, I've not attended a lot of away game's over the past five seasons because of work commitments

Re: Rovers away tickets
On the plus side at least we won't have to deal with them next season.
Obviously as a club they need to do everything the can to try and close the huge gap between the 2 clubs, the first game gave them an insight into how far they are from being able to compete with us. This for them is a cup final and they have to do what they can in the hope they aren't embarrassed again. Some of their fans still cry today about their performance that day when we were just way too much for them it makes sense to do what they can.
You can bet no club in this division would give them the lowest allocation of the season due to not being good enough to compete with them. Take it as the compliment it is.

I wouldn't be so sure about us not playing them next season. They are obviously fifth in the league and they are top of the form table. They look an improved side of late.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 6:47 amOn the plus side at least we won't have to deal with them next season.

As for the allocation, it's poor from our perspective but it's their decision and within the rules. So not great for our supporters, and from a personal point of view I won't be entering the ballot even though I'm eligible - can't be arsed with it.

I personally think, given the circumstances, having a ballot of an eligible (probably not all will apply) 4000 people for 2000 tickets is a better way to do it than who has the fastest internet and can get a ticket in their basket first.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 7:23 amThe ballot is a silly idea, and we should just have stuck to the normal procedure

Iam not against the points system, but when small allocations go on sale at 10am on a weekday it does stop a big proportion of fans being able to buy one
A ballot spread over several days does give everyone the chance to get a ticket.

Re: Rovers away tickets
I'm not applying for starters!
I guess the club think the ballot system is fairer, but hasn't every away game got to at least 4000 points before selling out?
I suspect this might be how they do it in the future for close away games, especially as the amount of people with 6000 points is only going to keep getting bigger
Re: Rovers away tickets
Luton didn't and I don't think Blackpool did. They could raise the 6000 to 8000 or 10000. It sort of defeats the idea of having a points system if the Club are going to abandon it for certain games!Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 7:37 amI'm not applying for starters!

Easiest way for high demand is to create another tier at say 8,000 or 9,000 pointsLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 7:37 amI'm not applying for starters!

Re: Rovers away tickets
Sadly I was unable to go this the second it was postponed due to the FA Cup, as will not be possible for me to get there after work midweek.
I think the allocation is a disgrace and almost embarrassing from Blackburn really - it's effectively saying "We aren't very good are we, so let's stop as many of them from lording it over us as possible". It shows a lack of confidence in their team, and rightly so - as they are absolutely shite. I have no doubts whatsoever that the 2000 Clarets there will make more noise and have more to celebrate than whatever piffling figure the horse fiddlers can manage (judging by their shocking attendances - despite almost begging people to come with free tickets - it won't be many).
I look forward to the end of the season as we waltz into the land of rainbows and honeydrops and they sit in squalor ready for another season of nothing, with not a penny received for golden boy Brereton-Diaz as he goes to Spain for free.
Enjoy Accyblue, I'd love to say I pity you but I do not. I laugh. Heartily.

The gap shouldn't get bigger and bigger just because you was born earlier, the kids will never ever catch up and are being punished because they were born less than 20 years ago

Re: Rovers away tickets
It's a difficult one for sure (and I say that with a points total of 9k+) and I have sympathy for this argument as my Daughter is 5 now, if she gets into football (or rather, if I manage to get her into football!) I will feel similarly down the line probably.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 8:18 amThe gap shouldn't get bigger and bigger just because you was born earlier, the kids will never ever catch up and are being punished because they were born less than 20 years ago
Maybe a higher tier at say, 8k, could be created and used only by the club on specific games as opposed to all? I.e, Luton, Blackburn etc? I don't know,

Re: Rovers away tickets
Away Points rolling over each two or three seasons should be used not if you've had a season ticket since the points system come out. Points system doesn't work when you see club employees bragging on twitter that his full family were at Luton including a 8 year old child going to there first ever away game, how did they get one of the 1000 tickets with around only 750 points

Re: Rovers away tickets
Don't know what all the fuss is about.
Is it really any different from when we don't cut the grass as short, we didn't water the pitch against certain teams to slow the surface down, and let's not forget the time we brought in the advertising boards to try and stop Delaps long throws.
If they think this will help them, then let them go for it..
Personally I don't think it will make a blind bit of difference to what happens on the pitch.

Its pretty obvious how your average fan gets a ticket for his eight year old kid btw
I don't agree with it, but the alternative is no kids going at all, and that isn't fair either
I'm not sure what we can do about this tbh

You're not wrong. We had nearly 8,000 at City, didn't help much then. Celtic and Rangers often win at each other's grounds with zero away fans. The best team on the day will win. Shame for the all ones that don't make it, but having 2,000 away fans instead of 5,000 isn't going to change the result.Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 8:31 amPersonally I don't think it will make a blind bit of difference to what happens on the pitch.
