Re: Rovers away tickets
I have just received an email from Burnley Football Club informing me that I have been SUCCESSFUL in the ballot.
I then received another email from Burnley Football Club informing me that i have been UNSUCCESSFUL in the ballot.
Are they taking the P1ss?

That would be too much common sensequoonbeatz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 12:57 pmTotally agree, which is why it should be binned and chamged to current ST holders, then general sale. Totally fair and inclusive.

Spot on. Unless your kids are twins, triplets etc you will have one child who enters the 6,000 bracket before the other and you can take one child and not the other.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 1:27 pmTotally agree with this, and to add further, you also have a natural generation gap that can stop families attending, for example I have 7100 points, but my son who is 23 has 5700 points which means no point me buying a ticket at early allocation or 6000 level because I want/need to be sat with him, so I have to wait until he gets to 6000. Then add in to the factor my grandson now has his first season ticket and attends with us, so could be between 15 to 17 years before we can all go together if the 6000 stays. I presume its even worse where family's have siblings brothers sisters with a 2 to 4 years gap in birthdays. What Travis is suggesting seems to solve this, but I do understand that this could be a selfish view. Very hard to suit everyone I suppose
If they ever get to 6,000 before they leave university.

I've got one ticket but needed two, does anyone want to sell me one if you have a spare
Re: Rovers away tickets
So don't take them to the two away games per season where this actually becomes relevant?TravisBickle wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 2:56 pmSpot on. Unless your kids are twins, triplets etc you will have one child who enters the 6,000 bracket before the other and you can take one child and not the other.

Re: Rovers away tickets
And if one grows faster than the other, only the tall one can go on the rides at the Pleasure Beach. And only one will be able to buy a beer on the eldest's 18th birthday. One will start learning to drive before the other. One will start going to really popular away games before the other.TravisBickle wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 2:56 pmSpot on. Re: Rovers away tickets
AGENT_CLARET why don’t you sleep yourself the ticket that you got in the ballot you didn’t enter, that way you’ll have the two tickets you need.
Re: Rovers away tickets
Bar a handful of games you could have all gone to every away this season, without even having a season ticket.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 1:27 pmTotally agree with this, and to add further, you also have a natural generation gap that can stop families attending, for example I have 7100 points, but my son who is 23 has 5700 points which means no point me buying a ticket at early allocation or 6000 level because I want/need to be sat with him, so I have to wait until he gets to 6000. Grown men crying because they didn't win in the ballot. Who's to say that if they didn't do a ballot but instead made them available to purchase from 10:00 today you would of still got a ticket? They'd of just gone as quick as the Luton tickets did. Everyone with over 6000 points (including me) had a chance to win a ticket.

They may have used your clarets number to enter the ballot, maybe?AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 4:24 pmStill don't know what you mean, I can't tell if your being funny anyway genuinely I didn't enter the ballot but got an email for one ticket but need two that's why I didn't enter because the other person doesn't have 6k points but somehow I've been offered a single ticket

No, I've got two family linked to mine and they are my children and I buy all the tickets, also I'm the only one with the log in details so it's pretty strange but frustrating because I need two

Maybe they think this is the better way to use it. Still requires a large number of loyalty points but does at least mean that it is attainable by people under the age of 25.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 1:27 pmWhy do you think they haven't used the system properly, i think its because they genuinely don't care.

Re: Rovers away tickets
I like quoons idea.
Let’s be honest, this season is complete one-off in terms of demand. Ordinarily most season ticket holders or long standing away followers have not major problems obtaining tickets.
With only 2000 up for grabs, the club couldn’t win here.

Anyone know if they are printing names on the tickets? My wife's got a ticket but not me, but she's kindly donated it to me. When I contacted the ticket office the girl on the phone said that the police would be checking tickets
Re: Rovers away tickets
Need ID on match day too at the turnstiles or you'll be refused entry.
Could be a half empty away end

I didn’t qualify either way. But can see that the only fairer way is an equal access to all season ticket holders if not a rolling points system.

Re: Rovers away tickets
Let's be honest and say our club were put in an extremely difficult position and also had very little time in which to consult and come to a solution. No solution was going to suit everyone. They were absolutely 'tatered by many over the scramble for Luton tickets just a few weeks ago and people insisted the system in those circumstances (extremely limited tickets) was seriously flawed. So in this, not dissimilar circumstance they have come up with a rather different system. Yes, maybe the points threshold could have been set higher at say 9,000 points, but would that have limited the vitreol now being vented? I doubt it. When the criteria was set and publicised last week, not many took public issue with it as far as I could see and all our collective ire regarding the tickets was directed 9 miles down the road. Now we're all jumping about and ranting at our club seemingly (much of the time) because we were actually unsuccessful in said ballot. Ultimately the way tickets are allocated and purchased may evolve and change in the future, but this particular situation is very much a one off imo and BFC were simply trying to do their best with something of a poisoned chalice (maybe).

Re: Rovers away tickets
spot on
Re: Rovers away tickets
My heart goes out to all the people who think they are entitled to tickets because they have been able to attend more away games. Because they have the luxury of having more time on their hands at weekends. Because they were born earlier than other people. Because they anointed themselves as "proper" fans because they were around during the crap times. Because they run sites. Because they have bigger voices than others. My heart bleeds for you. It really does.

Not according to ticket office staff, asked about why they are selling under 12 tickets they said they can sell them but can't guarantee entry due to ID checks on the turnstile

Re: Rovers away tickets
Well fairs fair, lets completely alinate our young new fanbase in favour of the old ones and cause the clubs fanbase to burn out and become non existent when the older fans beging to pass away or become unable to attend anymore, genuinely shocking that anyone thinks this is the right way. A rolling system is periodically and unequivocally the best way of doing a loyalty system.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 12:48 pmDon't see any problem with that. If you've paid into the loyalty system for that long you've earned the right to pick and choose.
