Interesting item from the BBC Sport website

I can't really think beyond Heaton and Pope for us - if I had to pick one it would be Pope from Traore at Villa Park last season. Amazing stop in such a vital game

Heatons starfish save against Zlatan at Old Trafford comes to mind. He said the force of it nearly broke his arm.

Heaton from Austin at Southampton - stunning save

The two from Heaton just mentioned are my all time favourites.

Neither Austin nor Imbrahimovic could believe they hadn't beaten our Tom.

Didn't they happen only about a week apart too?

I agree on the 2 Heaton saves but the one that CT mentions at Southampton just about gets my vote.
Both incredible saves though.

On the article I remember the Arsenal one well - that was a great save.

In terms of saves on the Turf in recent years I always thought that save from Ederson in the top corner from I think a Lennon shot into the Bee Hole end was a cracking save.
Ederson is a pretty incredible keeper to watch live - the way he strikes a ball is amazing. Muric definitely has some of that in him but Ederson has got to be up there with the best keeper in history with his feet.

Alan Stevenson at Liverpool in an Fa Cup Replay 72/3. The applause and roar of approval from The Kop will live long in the memory.

Way way back I saw an incredible save from Aston Villa's Geoff Sidebottom off Gordon Harris in the early 1960's. 'Bomber' caught it on the volley about 10 yards from goal down at The Beehole End and somehow Sidebottom got a hand to the ball and flicked it over the bar.Stayed with me all those years.

Heaton at Southampton from Austin was an incredible save. The Zlatan star jump one had elements of fortune about it, the Austin one was up there with the best saves i have seen anywhere, from any keeper, ever.

Not a single save as such, but I'm pretty sure there was some good uns in Harry Thomson's masterclass in Naples that time, which included a penalty save.
Kept his cool when there was mayhem all around him, including being spat on by an opposition player.

Another great one Tom made was at Brighton, just after he'd replaced Hart in the team.

Some crackers on this You Tube video from the keeper who redefined standards back in the 1990s. 10. 9 & 5 are great saves, 1 is up there with the Banks save from Pele.

Alan Stevenson in a 1-1 home draw with Bristol City in 1972-73. As good as Banks's against Brazil. Despite winning the divsion that year, we could easily have lost that match 5-1.

Man City 1 Burnley 2, Maine Road, May 2nd 1960. Blacklaw made some good saves then, and their importance was immeasurable. Unfortunately there is a distinct lack of TV coverage so it doesn't count!

Going back in time I’d include

Blacklaw v Sheff Wed at Hillsborough in FA Cup 1961
Blacklaw v Hamburg at home
Waiters v Oxford in FA Cup 1971

Heaton v West Ham around Christmas in 2018 I think, his return to the team after his shoulder injury, last 5 mins a save from a Andy Carroll header, superb.

Would have to say the Austin save at Southampton was better though.

This was one hell of a save and the fact that it was from a Deeney effort makes it all the more sweeter...

Heaton vs Zlatan or Heaton vs Austin came to mind immediately.

In terms of other goalkeepers I still don't know how David Seaman pulled that one out of the net when he was going the wrong way in the FA Cup vs Sheff United.

1. Tony Waiters - Home v Coventry City

2. Peter Mellor - Home v Leeds (Billy Bremner)

I think the Coventry save was from an Ernie Hunt free kick
but could be wrong

Yep pretty sure it was that game.
We got a late equaliser after Sterling missed a sitter.
I sit behind the goal and Lennon struck it beautifully - looked a goal all the way

That was a brilliant game. They were all over us but we never gave up. A very 'dyche' performance

Iam McFaul saving from Frank Casper in the FA Cup semi-final 1974. An incredible save from point blank range.

Go to 12mins 40 secs for the save. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr9-3eXobB4&t=23s

Brian Laws once made a stunning save after donning the gloves when Alan Stevenson was sent off v Blackpool ( I think ) at home in the 1980’s. It was at the Cricket Field end, and Laws went full stretch to tip one over the bar. I think we won the game? CT will know.
