Monster Munch - Variety Pack.

Post by equinox » Sun Mar 26, 2023 7:12 pm

What's the first flavour you go for?

I close my eyes, reach in happy to have any of the 3 but secretly I really want Pickled Onion.

Pickled Onion isn't only the best Monster Munch but the best crisp overall.

But of course, I'm biased.

I used too devour these when I was younger, however I haven't touched them in over 20 years now, strange how your tastes can change over time isn't it.

Not really a monster munch fan, but if I've got to choose, then pickled onion.

Recently had the BBQ flavoured quavers, they're pretty good

They've aged remarkable well, whilst Wotsits, Frazzles not so much Quavers but certainly Chipsticks (which are now almost unedible) have all deteriorated.

I lived in Thailand for 6 years and every 3 months my mum would send me 12 packs of pickled onion monster munch as part of a ‘care’ package lol!

I think smiths did the chipticks as I recall blue & white packet with blue stripes running down, apart from multipacks cheaper options seem to be preferred with space raiders or the shared pringles or grab bags, consumer trends have changed if it doesn't sell it doesn't get stocked & eventually discontinued & remains as a memory alone.

Pickled Onion for sure

But best crisps in the world IMHO are Lays Barbecue crisps.
Unfortunately they are virtually impossible to find now - the Spanish and Portuguese supermarkets don’t seem to stock them for some reason.
I did come across some at the airport coming bank from holiday in February this year - £12 for one packet !! Had to get them though and bring them back to UK. And no they were not worth the money !!

If you’re on a tighter budget, Lidl monster claws are a good option.

To answer the op it’s obviously pickled onion.

Monster munch are "NOT" crisps, they are Puffed Corn Snacks (to be pedantic) as crisps are potato snacks, but hey "Pickled Onion" are deffo the best fkavour 😁

Hmmmmm.... I did linger over Lidls offerings on a recent visit to Penzance... I may take the plunge on a future visit on your recommendation.

Yes... Obviously pickled onion.

Funnily enough I bought some for the kids a week or so ago. I'd prolly not had em for 20 years or more up until then.

What got me was how bland they were compared to when I was a kid.

They all tasted the sameish toobut the best ones were probably the "hot" ones.

Not bad but I don't think the kids liked em so I won't be buying em again, i'll be sticking with the Walkers prawn cocktail!

You'll probably find most of the artificial flavourings we were used to have been banned for making you glow in the dark.

Love beef, but have always hated anything beef flavour.

Pickled Onion, in fact I avoid the variety pack and get the multipack pickled onion, as all the family is the same.

Going through a bit of renaissance with us actually, but the small bags are taking some getting used to.. 7 whole monster munch in the last pack!

Every three months? Does she not like you? :D Flaming hot is the best, followed by pickled onion with roast beef very close to that!

They're not quite right. Don't get your hopes up too far. But they're decent enough.

It's a sorta 6/10 product but if money's tight I'd recommend.

Lidl do these crisps called lentil chips I think? They’re just sea salt flavour but they’re very very good! Probably my favourite crisp ATM. Shout out to max fiery prawn too

Whilst in Argentina I picked up a commemorative bag of Lays crisps. My Spanish isn't great so I was somewhat disappointed that they weren't Lionel Messi flavoured
