Likewise, I went yesterday - brilliant service. I was in and out in minutes. Spoke to Barry, who is a really great guy.

I’m a bit young for them have a few family issues and having witnessed first hand the devastating effects of prostate cancer, wanted to start going early.

Run like a military operation and you got to overlook the turf while the bloods were taken.

Hope everyone got green results.

@beddie - next one is 15th April at Burnley golf club, go to Barry’s website and get it booked!

You can even order a home testing kit, if you're not able to make one of the scheduled events

I spoke to my doctor about getting a test done and they weren't particularly interested so I'm going to order a kit to do it at home

It is ridiculous for a doctor not to be interested in supporting a PSA test. I know from personal experience how important this is.

Glad all ok- I'd also like to add my thanks to everyone concerned for a very well run and efficient process.

Had my test at noon Saturday, received results yesterday tea-time and thankfully also had a 'green' result.

Wow! Things have really progressed since I was tested in September 2021. Back then it was about a week before I got my red result, which I stiil thought was reasonably quick. . It's disappointing that some GP's are still dismissive of the potential importance of a PSA test. I recall after my previous testing session in 2018 my result was borderline and my GP considered it was nothing to be concerned about and just asked me to provide a urine sample.

It's fantastic to see the BKPCA continuing to do such valuable work.

Had mine Saturday morning at The Turf too and got my "green" result last night. Brilliantly organised and hats off to Barry K who as others have mentioned is a properly nice chap. I went once before several years ago, when there was no appointment system and had to queue out the door into the JH car park and wait well over an hour. That just showed how successful the whole thing is and the way it's done now is excellent. I'm aware there's debate in learned medical circles as to the validity of the tests, but imo anything which can potentially save just one person's life is worth it.

Worth mentioning that there are still spaces available at a repeat testing event at. Burnley Golf Club on 15th April. This thread has prompted me to book myself in.

I was bullied by Barry Kilby a few years ago into having my PSA checked but I could never make his testing days. I ask the nurse at my GP surgery now so have it checked fairly regularly.

What Barry is doing here is absolutely brilliant. Good to hear some of you went and got good results.

I went to Rochdale football Club just over 4 years ago (on the advice of Barry Kilby at a book signing event) and thought it’s about time I went again, as I am now 72, the test result was green. Last Saturdays testing didn’t seem to be promoted on the clubs website so I registered with the BKPCA and tried to book a place but it came up as “private event”. I assumed it was fully booked as slots were available at other events. I tried calling a couple of times but no pick up, just went to voice mail. I will probably book up for the golf club event.

For anyone who lives in North Lancashire, there's a testing day on 13th May at Lancaster City FC, Giant Axe.

Are you on active surveillance, Tribesman? Good luck! I hope everything turns out well for you.

I did the home test and it was really easy once I'd found a finger with some blood in it.

Got the results today and my scores are very low so that's good.

I've been putting it off for ages due to never being in Burnley when the tests are being conducted.

If you can't get to the test centres then do it at home. Could be the best money you ever spend.

Took less than a week from ordering the test to getting the results

Got my test today at Burnley Golf Club.

I can’t believe how hard it was to go without nookie for 48 hours.
Honest ☺️

No pun intended either.

i have mine done regularly at my GP surgery. They are very thorough, and always recommend the DRE (digital rectal examination) as well just to make sure, because the PSA is not 100% accurate.
