Ekdal injured

Post by Quickenthetempo » Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:44 am

Looks like he came off injured at half time last night playing for Sweden.
A bang to the head and a kick to the knee have been reported in a translated article.

Disappointing for him but hopefully provides Al Dakhil a chance until THB is fully match fit.

How would THB get match fit without playing a match?

He wasn’t in the 21s yesterday.

Nothing to suggest that he has any kind of serious injury. Could be fine and was maybe just taken off as a precaution.

I assume like most players who’ve been out for a while, we’d give him minutes from the bench.

Be interesting to see if Vinny changes the winning team if all fit.

I was not expecting THB to come straight back in if Ekdal was fit, I thought he might get 30 minutes or so to ease him back in, but we'll see soon enough. From what I read it was a precaution to take him off, he appears to start being the first choice CH for Sweden now.

He’s already played for the U 21’s for just over an hour each game ,he’ll be fine.

This will be a huge loss. THB has been excellent. But ekdal has been near faultless. And our record of points and clean sheets since he has come in has been incredible.

Not a slight on THB at all. Both have been excellent. Incredible how many options we have when you consider how many injuries we’ve had this season. Which definitely seems much higher than under Dyche.

Didn’t look particularly injured on the “getting ready for Sunderland” clip the club just posted.

Only Foster seems to be missing from the ones who went off to play for their Countries (apart from BPF and Muric)

Didn't Zaroury play last night.

There's a history of these videos not being on the day posted.

This is the beauty of the situation we are in this season, in a division much inferior to the PL.
It doesn't matter if Ekdal is injured for this Friday, as good a player he is.
Injuries are unpredictable , that's the nature of the game

And I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who came a thousand miles
To Burn-ley to play at Turf Moor
Hjalmar Ekdal……….

In a division where the best team is not much inferior to at least 12 teams in the division above. And those 12 teams are 'much' inferior to the top 3 or 4.
