This guy was clueless in January, however the same result would do nicely despite his total incompetence.

I just hope he doesn't spoil the games as a spectacle.

Watched his previous game alongside a Luton fan and a Spurs fan, they though he was a bit naff but nowhere near the slating he got on here.

I just thought he looked out of his depth, hopefully he's improved!

The foul given on Obafemi was ridiculous. Just hold fire blowing the whistle for a second or two to see if it develops - a clear advantage.

Our bookings were correct decisions but referees need to start booking players for time wasting, the only way to stop it

Need to see it back but Cullen's looked a joke. As already said, can't believe we had bookings but they didn't.

To me Cullen stopped a counter so can’t argue with a card there

Lad goes right through Tella..nothing.

Cullen in a 50-50 wrestling match where the foul could have gone either way gets a card ..crazy

Mic’d up doing an Australian league game which had VAR to help make decisions for him and gets fast tracked to English league football, I’ve said it all season prem refs dropping down to championship really doesn’t work, if anything they are worse than champ refs as they are scared to make a decision without VAR

Cullen wrestled their lad to the floor and the Maatsen tackle was a yellow all day long. However, he allowed them to be as physical as they wanted to be without any reprimand at all. The tackle on Tella in the 1st half looked awful from the stand. There were one or two borderline ones on Benson and Anass too. The time-wasting and at every goal kick, free kick, throw in and (bizarrely) corner was proper Dyche stuff. The officials need to stamp it out or add 10 minutes on at the end. As it happens, he did neither. Overall, a very below par job tonight.

I tough he was ok, he did try to let the game flow, and let a lot go with a ticking off rather than a card.
The only quibble I would have was the treatment of Tella. He and the fullback were at each other the whole game, yet every free kick seemed to go the Sunderland lads way which was bizaar.
Time wasting is time wasting, none of us like it done to us, but are happy to do it to others. If you call a ref for not dealing with it, then 90% of them would fail.

Two out of two for the referee. Consistently rubbish. No authority, trying to be the player's freind. Icing on the cake was him picking O'Nein off the floor at the end of the match. Hope he returns to Aus to the NRL soon.

Dreadful referee who let Sunderland get away with murder on the time wasting and was naive to let O’Nein get away with cheating all game.

He basically made a rod for his own back once he didn’t book their lad when he went through the back of Tella. As clearer yellow card you will not see!

How he is refereeing at the top level is staggering. Saying that we’ve have some absolute stinkers this season. Leigh Doherty is the other one that really stands out as totally inept and not fit for purpose.

I thought he couldn't possibly be worse than his last appearance. I was wrong.
