Makes our task a lot easier with Boro dropping points today.

And Luton won't find it easy at Millwall.

Come on you selfish gits……….draw at Boro, win and party at The Turf v Sheff U…………

Then massive party at that lot down the road, inflatable trophies, we knock them out of the play offs and hopefully SKY call them out for their childish pathetic behaviour over tickets.

Will people not accept it ... Luton and Boro have to win every bloody game .... its Sheff U that can dampen our season by nicking the title ...

Lets stuff Boro next Friday and Sheff U at the Turf a week on Monday, and make this our best ever Championship season ...

Come on you Premier League bound Clarets

Both Luton and Boro can in theory make 88 points with a maximum haul from their 7 remaining games (We have 8) However I'm sure they still have to play each other, so I'm thinking only one of them can reach that total. Us beating Boro would effectively mean they're unable to catch us, but as others have said, guaranteed promotion would either mean one more win or depend on Luton dropping points next Friday or another day.

Yes I’d like us to beat both Boro and Sheff U but if not the main thing is not to lose either.

So, basically we can officially be promoted at Boro if we win there and Luton don’t win v Millwall. I think. It’s all academic as there is no way we will lose every single match of the rest of the season.

I’ve been saying the same boss. After last night the media said we needed 8 points but failed to mention that that is only if Boro or Luton win all theirs. After todays results if Luton fail to win at Millwall we can get promoted at Boro and even if we draw it would take a miracle to stop us. Only dampener was Sheff Utd winning. We are still 11 points ahead but lose at Boro and the game against Utd takes on a whole new importance. Having said that it would take two defeats on the bounce to cause us any problems and we’ve only lost two all damn season.

Going up as Champions for sure.

Luton have to play Millwall and Rovers away as well as Middlesbrough at home so I can't see anything but play offs for Luton or Boro.

Been saying for weeks that Boro or Luton will not get 83 points so we are already up. That looks obvious now, with them still on 67 with only 7 games to go. The title is almost as clear cut, but their win today keeps us honest. We can’t afford to ease off, a good thing.

But we won’t be winning the league against Blades now, so I glad I bought that Rotherham ticket just in case. Just hoping it isn’t at Reading. But it will be soon.

Presuming we’re up,I think it would be great for all the Burnley fans who have tickets for Deadwood to donate theirs to a local Blackburn charity ,and let them try ,and fill the ground with their own,and make sure there’s plenty of publicity ,so Sky can make the most of it,& show we’re bigger ,and better than them on,and off the pitch.

I think that most of us have been pretty sure that we are going up automatically (sooner or later) for a couple of months now, but what we are keen to avoid is stuttering over the line with a series of 0-0s, the odd defeat and the odd victory. We want to confirm our Pl Status asap, and then kick on.
Hopefully normal service will be resumed over Easter.

This. Retrospectively, come May, the math(s) will show we’re already up, but there’s nothing like the surety of looking at a table that confirms it….. but crossing the line in a comparative whimper will slightly take the gloss off an amazing achievement - only slightly though

I go on my hols on the day of the Sheff Utd game and I'm going to Middlesbrough so naturally I'm desperate for at least the chance for it to happen away at Boro.
At half time today my daughter prayed for a turnaround at Huddersfield to keep the dream alive. God listened :D

Then I realised Luton were still involved

More praying required Friday lunchtime :D

Miserable sod here.

We'll have to play a lot better then we did against Sunderland to get something from these two games, surely our toughest of the season.

If we draw against Sheffield Utd and match their results from now, then the game we can be crowned champions is QPR at home. I've never seen us win the league at home so that would be magical.

The next game after that... Rovers
