How can it be a weakened team when it is a squad game. There is no point naming 25, or how many it is, if you don't use them. Kompany has earned the right to put in players to check out due to gaining promotion early. Anyway, after today with almost the main team, Reading might have beaten us if we hadn't made changes.

We're pretty bad at match fixing if today is owt to go by.
Pretty much full strength team fell to a side near the bottom, so blows their argument out of the water

Huddersfield, embarrassing themselves on and off the pitch

Absolutely embarrassing from Huddersfield if that’s the case. Always winds me up when opposition managers criticise a team for fielding a so-called weakened side - shows a complete lack of respect for the players chosen to play.

It’s a squad game and if VK had decided to stick the under 15s in against Reading they may have a point. But he didn’t.

From March, you need to name at least 10 outfield players in the squad that were named in the previous squad

The article has it wrong that we won promotion the previous game to Reading, which was Sheff U

There were 12 players that were named in both those games

Strange thread title .
We are not being investigated for match fixing. That is entirely different to allegedly playing a weakened team .

Warnock has a history of complaining - he complained about Liverpool doing it when he was Sheff Utd manager a few years back.

Huddersfield themselves faced the exact same accusation in 2017

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/f ... e-13172905

The current EFL rule states

25.1 Each Club shall play its full strength in all Matches played under the auspices of The League unless some satisfactory reason is given. In the event of the explanation not being deemed satisfactory the Board shall refer the matter to a Disciplinary Commission which has the power to impose such penalties as it shall think fit.

Guidance

From the fourth Thursday in March, any Team Sheet for a League game should include at least 10 outfield players who featured on the Team Sheet for the League game before.

Looking at the team sheet for the games against Sheff Utd and Reading . Pretty sure we had 11 outfield players who featured on both team sheets

Foster
Benson
Tella
Cullen
Gudmonsen
Taylor
Beyer
Roberts
Cork
Barnes
Vithinio

So a complete non story !

Stupid. Everyone of that Burnley team have played this season before and we didn’t even lose. Charlie Taylor a regular in the PL and Lyle Foster is an International CF. The rest are regulars. Non story.

'Should', not 'shall'.

Huge difference.

As it says 'guidance'.

Meaningless in this context as we were in compliance.

I mean, I know its the Daily Mail and making s**t up is its thing, but there is a massive difference between "fielding a weakened side" and "match fixing"

We played weakened sides v Reading and Rotherham and drew, and played arguable our strongest 11 v QPR and lost

Not even Lionel Hutz would take this one on

The same paper that had us plummeting lower than Sunderland after last season’s relegation.

I know some people will go to the supermarket, pick up copies of the mail and place them with the toilet rolls.

Has the Daily Mail article now been changed from "match fixing"? The actual article only refers to being under investigation for fielding a weakened side.

Might be carefully calculated by Huddersfield to make sure we play a near full strength team against Cardiff for the last game
