3 Players at the end??

Post by KateR » Sat Apr 29, 2023 5:14 pm

3 players stayed out well beyond the rest who went down the tunnel, kept doing runs to our fans, maybe 2+2+5 but looked like goodbyes to me, Barnes, Cork & Taylor I think, will see but it's in my mind now!

yes, the Rotherham manager was going mad about it a couple of weeks ago when his team were trying to celebrate a draw with us.

KateR, you'll have to stay to the end more often.

It's a 10 hour flight from UK to Houston, Texas. Most of us wouldn't stay to watch the subs do their warm down if we'd got a flight to catch and be very, very late home if we missed it.

Hi Paul Waine and KateR, amazing that you get over for any games. It was meant to be a light hearted comment, I'm just not very proficient with the old smilies. No offence intended. Yes after games 3 or more players, I've seen up to six, will do a few sprint warmdowns. Usually subs or players who have only played part of a game.

After game warmdowns have been a thing for a considerable amount of time for Burnley and I presume many other clubs. The numbers of players who take part will vary. Previously I've noted that some have left the pitch at the end of the fame and then returned a short time later to warmdown. This season the warmdown with subs and others who may have spent just a few minutes playing can start almost immediately after the game ends. I presume this is what KateR noticed.

Hi Darnhill, sorry, I live in London. When I was working there were periods when I flew regularly from London to Houston. I was last there in November 2015. At a guess I flew to Houston 5 or 6 times that year.

Two Burnley fans. I believe we have both spent time working in the energy sector. I've visited Houston many times for work over something like 25 years. I think those are our connections.

And I've lived in Houston 25 years, but in that time have flown numerous times to numerous countries, our eldest and two grandchildren live close to Burnley so it's always a good excuse to get over :)

We also get a lot of the EFL games on TV, but the feed disappears within a minute of the final whistle, which always annoys me, however we get every EPL game and their is plenty of analysis so I'm really looking forward to nest season :)
