Ramsbottom scored 203/6 against Burnley who were only around 65 at half way in reply, but a big partnership helped them to a comfortable win with Erasmus on 94 not out.

Besides the two local clubs, there were wins for Clitheroe, Littleborough, Norden & Todmorden.

Apparently Colne 2nds scored 361 and Clitheroe 2nds replied with 291-6. Anyone know who scored Colne's runs?

I have to say that was one to the most remarkable wins I’ve seen from a Lowerhouse team.

As said above, dead and buried twice in the game but came back to win with time to spare.

A few uncharacteristic dropped catches and heads could easily have dropped but a bowling fight back lead by the pro saw a possible 300 become 224 all out.

In the batting 13-3 with Ben, an in form Henri and the pro back in the hutch and it looks like game over.

Up steps Jack Simm who proved his undoubted ability with a break through knock. He’s great to watch is Jack, he has quite a languid laid back style but he can play shots all round the wicket.

Then the old stager Blez joined him and it proved the perfect combination. Blez batter like he was 26 not 56, a fantastic innings!

To beat a team like Darwen from the position we were in is some win.

That's some going to still be hitting Lancs League half centuries at 56. Well done to him.

On the subject of looking dead and buried but winning, I recall a Worsley Cup game between Burnley and Todmorden back some years ago. Tod, batting second, levelled the scores with two balls remaining and had lost one less wicket so all they needed to do was play the last two balls back. They didn't know the rules, went for a daft run and got run out off the penultimate ball. Now level, with the same number of wickets, they were still in front based on the scores after 20 overs. They didn't know the rules, went for a daft run and got a run out off the last ball leaving Burnley the winners having lost one less wicket.

A long time ago was that - back in 1976 (I've just looked that up).

But, back to yesterday, and well done Chris Blezard.

I thought it was over with, I think that will be a win that we’ll look back on as the most important at the end of the season

Maz Clark 130 no, and think Jake Greenbank had 60. Obviously a few others chipped in decent knocks as well.

Looks like the thrashing at Padiham on Friday night was the kick up the backside the House needed. :D

You have a cracking 2nd team to be fair.

Did you come down? Did you enjoy the night apart from the result?

Wasn’t there unfortunately. Saved myself for the two home games. Great annual event for a good cause though.

Catches stuck today and the bowling was tight after Prestwich got off to a flyer.

Their Pro was motoring at 49-1 and it seemed like we would be chasing another big total. Pro went and the rest capitulated with Joe Hawke picking up a well deserved 5 wickets.

As expected, the home side knocked them off with many overs to spare.

I think it was their opener and captain that was doing the damage early on. Their pro didn't get many and was the one caught brilliantly at square leg.

All 4 Lancashire League sides in the LCF cup are through to the next round.

Lowerhouse will be away to Great Eccleston in the next round. I think they are lined up to possibly be away to Clitheroe in the round after.

Lowerhouse Pro looks really dangerous with the ball, if the fielders are on it this year he will get a boat load edging.

One of three to reach three figures in the game.

Usman Tariq scored 166 not out for Nelson and for Middleton Shipley was 144 not out and Price 109 not out.

I wouldn’t have wanted to be a bowler at Middleton today.

House grabbed a win at Littleborough this afternoon.

It was a new ground for all of us. Although some rumours exist that Lowerhouse had played them a few decades ago in some interleague tie.

We got completely lost on the way to the ground.from a pub near the train station. We thought the faster walkers knew where we were going. We ascended a 1 in 4 hill for a few hundred yards before a local asked about where we're going.

'To the cricket was our response. 'Not this way' the bloke said and advised that we needed to lose altitude quickly before we ended up with Hypoxia.

We arrived at the ground with no major injuries. However,, our advanced party suffered from inadequate Comms and continued upwards until they were rescued by a private taxi at a cost of £3.

The club itself is a smart place and well worth a visit. We had plenty of good natured banter with the home supporters.

The cricket was low scoring, but tense throughout.

It went down to the last ball and the House won.
