Next seasons kit
I personally loved this seasons kit, all three of them in fact, but I am referring specifically to the home shirt with this. Obviously it was done as an ‘anniversary tribute’ to the 1992 shirt, but it’s been such a huge success that I wonder if the club will seek to do something similar next season? It would be a shame (to me…) to return to a very basic claret and blue templated design next time out - I’d love them to take another risk with a retro throwback, or at least something out of the norm.
On these lines I wonder if anyone has a historical shirt that you’d like to see the club do a revision of? For me, it would be to try and do something that harks back to the 94 Play-Off final shirt, as it is the 30th anniversary of the 93/94 season after all (my first shirt too, actually). I always loved the patterning around the sleeves on it.

This season's home kit has been the best in a long time. And like you I hope next season it's a similar sort of idea. Just wish it was the same badge as above.

The Wembley '94 shirt as pictured above worn by Gary P was definitely my all time favourite.

No thanks!
You know I wasn’t a fan of this years kit, still not ‘my thing’ but it’s been a bloody success and I understand exactly why.
We are, for once, (echoing one of spirals points here) ‘the cool club’ - and I therefore think any design should be one that’s gonna get eyeballs on it and purchases.
For me I’d have a minimalistic kit; claret top, blue sleeves, white shorts and hooped claret & blue socks
But if we have a mad design like this years again - bring it on!

The historylecturer inferring he’s seen the new kit.
I’m as interested in who the sponsor will be as the kit itself.
Will the JJ Watt stuff help bring some big US brands to the table.

Re: Next seasons kit
Would be brilliant to see a big brand on the front of the shirt - I just hope that if it is another retro do-over that they also get another hook up with Endsleigh in place for the foodbank/charities (preferably with a bigger print run!).arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 2:40 pmThe historylecturer inferring he’s seen the new kit.

My username is my job so I haven’t seen it myself - I don’t work there but as usual it will be released when the sponsorship is in place

The green and black away strip from 1994(?) with endsleigh on it. Pretty vulgar but somehow really cool.

Re: Next seasons kit
The 70s V would be a real stinker I feel for todays market... I don't think we will be seeing anything like that in at least the forseeable future
^ That was my favourite of recent years although I quite liked this as well as an away kit:
Obviously ignoring the vile sponsor on both of them; the light blue away kit has in 19/20 has that sort of great blend between clean aesthetics with a contemporary twist

Those photos show how many great kits we've had recently but all ruined by the sponsor.

Re: Next seasons kit
I see your point but the right sort of sponsor can add to the design of a shirt and supply it with a bit of heritage down the line. We've had so many good shirts recently all ruined by betting sponsors. Other than the addiction aspect (whole other thread), they just very rarely if ever add any sort of character to a shirt. Classic Football Shirts, in my opinion of course, looks great across what is a beautiful home shirt. Hoping if not CFS again it's something similar.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 3:21 pmThink I'm gonna peel the sponsor off any shirt I buy in the future - they're proper tacky

I see your point re heritage and you're right - people will be talking about the CFS for years to come! - I have strong nostalgia when talking about 'the P3 Computers/Endsleigh' shirts of the 90s/00sPickles wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 3:25 pmI see your point but the right sort of sponsor can add to the design of a shirt and supply it with a bit of heritage down the line. For sure - crappy betting sponsor get it ripped off - they look awful
I'll add - I think it's more my individual style as well, not a fan of patterns or random scribbles on clothes

Deffo, rebought the 98-99 Adidas/P3 Computers fairly recently. I’m with you on this year’s kit but I put it down to my age and preferring a more traditional kit.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 2:15 pmNo thanks!

Re: Next seasons kit
We always win the league when we have a flecked pattern on the kit.
I say we go for mor flecks and start planning for the champions league.

This was my first home game in that season. We got stuffed at home by Wolves 4 or 5 nil. Steve Kinden scored for them really early on I think

I am sure whatever kit we have next season will be perfectly acceptable... if we keep the same sponsors! That was the biggest difference this season in my opinion. No junk gambling sponsor. Would love to have them back for the Premier League!

The shirt this season was spot on and having CFS sponsoring us was perfect for it.
Yes they may have not paid as much for it, but I I’d be interested to know what the sales were like compared to previous seasons.
We know it was one of the best sellers of all time so that would have gone some way to the £ shortfall

When they say it’s the best of all time, they’ve only kept records for a few years. I believe the best seller of all was 2009/10.wilks_bfc wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 10:19 pmAgree with this

I recall one season in the Prem with either laba bet or which ever one it was, we had a deal worth top sort of 10-12 in the PL - talking around the 6 million mark or so for the season
Not sure how much the club recuperates on a shirt sale, but from what I’ve heard of CFS (being one of the lowest in the champ) you’d have to sell a hell of a lot more to make a dent in the sum
But I would like to somehow see the quantity sold - and specifically how many went to non Burnley fans, will probably never know but who knows

The club badge would have to be the one before though.
We don’t need a sponsor with those two images it could easily fly over the ******* heads that way but would be amazing momento for fans.
