In the latest “The Rest is Politics” podcast, Alastair Campbell was asked who he would nominate to the role of the King’s Champion - a rather ancient role for someone to fight on behalf of the King. His nomination was not some distinguished soldier (or even Tony Blair) but Bashley!
So we can now dream of Bashley on a charger heading the procession at the next coronation, resplendent in a claret and blue uniform, looking for a b*****s keeper to push out of the the way.
