People who think that just because they are driving at the speed limit no-one should be allowed to overtake them and drive 'big' or use the outside lanes.

Traffic planners who decide the local school needs a permanent 20mph limit fitted with speed humps and/or cameras for an issue that occurs for only around 348 hours a YEAR (1 hour max twice a school day, 174 school days per year.).

Baby on Board signs in the back window. What the hell different does it make, it doesn't change the way you drive and actually makes you drive closer than you should to try and read the sign.

Drivers looking down at their supposedly hidden mobile phones rather than actually looking where they're going.

1. Middle lane hoggers. It should be mandatory on the basic driving test that you do a motorway segment on the practical. I've done a few away games this season and it is absolutely rife. Do people not get taught that it is an overtaking lane? 3 lane motorways constantly reduced to 2 lane dual carriageways either by middle lane hoggers who happily plod along doing 60 with nothing in the first lane. 4 lane motorways with the majority driving in the 3rd lane and those who want to get somewhere forced into the 4th lane with often two lanes empty. Totally insane.
It got to the point coming home from Bristol I moved back to the 1st lane and undertook quite a number of drivers plodding along in a very busy lane 3 when it was 4 lanes.
I'd been to a gig at Liverpool Academy last year and was travelling back on the M62 at 1am. Extremely quiet...yet one guy decided it was fine to drive in the 3rd lane/fast lane at about 40mph...and that is not an exaggeration. Why? Just why?
I often look across at them as i drive past. Most look in a trance. Totally oblivious.

2. This is a Gannow roundabout thing. Those who come up Westgate who decide they can't wait in the longer queue on the left and use the right hand lane despite them wanting to go on the motorway westbound. They then proceed to cut the people in the correct lane up in a desperate attempt to come right across so they don't miss the slip road.Absolute w******. I've seen and been close to a few accidents because of it. On one occasion the traffic was stopped as a ****wit actually drove across the island in the middle to get to the slip road. He/she had clearly missed it first time and rather than go round the Starbucks roundabout again they thought they'd take a short cut. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I avoid driving wherever I possibly can because I find the problem with most drivers is that they believe themselves to be a great driver and everyone else is rubbish and can't do it properly.

If everyone was a little more reflective on their own performance behind the wheel, it would go a long way to calming everybody down.

People loading cars on the road side, door open, arse stuck out into oncoming traffic and relying on motorists to see them/swerve around the door. Why can't people load from the pavement side? Much safer.

Driving over mini roundabouts without slowing down.

Though frustrating at times, it’s actually fine with me - those are the joke answers.

For me really it’s the large quantity of drivers sitting in lanes 3 and 4 pootling along at 65mph when there are 2 completely empty lanes 1 and 2 available.

Whilst the merge in turn zipper is also frustratingly annoying that people don’t understand it (and also vehemently disagree with it) the second massive irritation is anyone holding a phone up to the face horizontally whilst driving - I mean how f#cking dense do you have to be in your expensive car (that will have hands free Bluetooth built in)

Interesting one. Signage coming up Westgate makes no indication of Westbound vs Eastbound lane, both lanes are labelled M65. Driver coming up there for the first time would assume they could use either lane. In fact, logically you’d assume the inside lane would be for the first 2 turns, down Burnham gate or Accy Road, and the outside lane for the right, and final, turn off the roundabout.

Not indicating at roundabouts is increasingly common and increasingly dangerous.

Middle lane drivers on motorways. The sheer amount of drivers who don’t seem to know how to drive on a motorway is mindboggling.

What gets you proper angry when you’re out for a spin in the old jalopy?

1. People who zip around car parks at speed with no thought about pedestrians or other people parking up or emerging.

2. People who enter a busy motorway emerging from the slip road with (or without) indicating and fully expect to be on the outside lane within a few yards of entering the motorway

Interestingly, on our tiny tiny (1.5 miles wide) island, I've not experienced a single instance of a motorist being hostile or impatient towards a cyclist. In 9 years.

When motorists will inevitably be seeing their
"" targets"" or their bigger nastier relatives face to face in the near future it doesn't half limit their bravery.

Drivers come in all shapes & sizes with varying skills & experience always expect the unexpected & be cautious, lots of people on the road lack experience or are influenced by the wrong sort of drugs & you are completely right people do need to calm down the fact that people aren't is what's causing the accidents.

It's not illegal far from it when there's a open stretch of road in front of you but when overtaking round bends or dead ground dips potentially putting the motorist you are overtaking in a sh1tshaped position double damn right lights will be flashed for the inconsiderate w@nkers, not implying you drive like that.

Those knobs that speed past you on the right of you on the motorway, to then pull into a gap that doesnt exist infront of your car. Then brake.

Winds me up to high heaven.

Second one.

Blatantly using the wrong lane when two lanes are available, then when approaching said junction/roundabout, indicating into the lane you should have been in all along, blatantly skipping the queue.

Me and the missus spent an HOUR getting from the bottom of the sliproad at Junction 9 on the M65 watching cars go past us on the hill up, to cut in at the top. To get fron the bottom the bottom of the sliproad to Accy rd took an hour.
