Congratulations Sean Dyche
Congratulations Sean Dyche
Some job that keeping a very poor Everton team in the Premier League, Lampard had totally disillusioned the whole team, they were clueless when he arrived but he organised them and got the job done.
See you next year Sean, well done.

He’s done an excellent job keeping them up.
If he gets a bit of money this summer they could be a decent side next year.

Re: Congratulations Sean Dyche
Some Everton fans will be a bit embarrassed by this feat. A few weeks back it looked like the vast majority of them wanted him out.
He has done a great job with what he had to work with. If only he could have got more of a tune out of McNeil last season.

Well done Sean. Sad to see Everton stay up though. It would have been the perfect season to see both Leeds and Everton go down.

Got them looking like they actually cared. Repaired some of the mess Lampard left behind.
Doubt he'll be there next season, or at least for all of it.
Maybe he'll make it to the Turf with them though and some can give him a ninety minute serenade.

Very underrated manager by some doing what he does it might not be pretty but it's effective, Sean deserves credit.
Re: Congratulations Sean Dyche
We've all been curious to see exactly what a manager he really is, can he do this can he do that, what would he be like with money to spend ect.
Let's see then.

18 points from 17 games having taken over when they had 17 points from 21 games.
The one reason I really wanted them to stay up.

Pleased for Dyche etc. still disappointed that Everton stayed up though. I never really had an issue with them but over the last few years, I’ve started to really dislike them as a club.

Just as long as he doesn't start moaning about the diving in the PL next season again after seeing some of the Everton player's antics since he took over. ALL teams are guilty of it.

Really good achievement that from Dyche, pleased for him. But Everton being Everton, they’ll sack him, look for a bigger ‘name’ and be back here again next season.

Re: Congratulations Sean Dyche
Considering their injury list, lack of PL quality striker, a disjointed squad and low moral when he took over, he's done a good job of giving them a fighting chance and keeping their destiny in their own hands.
He may well get potted by the new owners, but either way he enhanced his reputation yet again.

It will be ridiculous if Everton get rid but nothing would shock me with that club. He’s just the kind of stability they needed and whilst I’d have liked to see them go down purely due to their fanbase and FFP cheating I am happy for him (and our ex players).
I reckon he will want rid of absolutely loads of that squad.

I just wonder what d!ck brains thinks? He said he would never get another job. What a Wally and so is the other clown who said early season Barnes should never wear the Claret shirt again. Some real plonkers on here.

Doucoure was out in the cold under Lampard, Sean (perhaps in desperation) brought him back and now he's just gone down in Everton folklore.

But for that to happen another offer has to be forthcoming & currently 1 isn't, it'd take a foolish man to leave a well paid job currently to go nowhere & wait, he's building something at Everton & going off what I've been reading & seeing & hearing he's got the support people want him to stay & continue doing what he's doing.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 7:02 pmBest thing SD could do now is to say thanks, but no thanks, I'm off to a better club.

Me too, luck doesn't last forever cos that's what they have been, although the saying is the table doesn't lie, I genuinely believe they were 1 of the worst 3 last season and it hasn't changed this, no money to spend cos it's all going on the stadium, doubt they'll survive next season.SussexDon1inIreland wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 6:37 pmI hope they don’t fire Sean which is being rumoured.

Palace are the only club looking for a manager for next season in the PL and they won't pay out for him.

Really pleased for him. His stock has risen considerably with this achievement.
I also have a soft spot for Everton, for personal reasons.
Naturally, I wanted Leeds to go down, and as for Leicester, it’s a big “meh!” from me.

Re: Congratulations Sean Dyche
It'll go on even longer than Coyle because there are two poles to this one.
You've got posters like Shaggy that hate his existence and then others who posted they wanted us to lose 10-0 the game after we sacked him.
They'll keep each other busy for a while yet.

Re: Congratulations Sean Dyche
No doubt he's done a good job there. He significantly increased the points per game over the previous managers this season- despite them having sold Gordon (and not replaced him) and having a pretty bad set of injuries.
I think he'd do a decent job building the squad/performances over time if they kept him but, on previous evidence and current rumours, they'll probably get rid. Didnt they sack Allardyce after he was brought in when they were struggling and had subsequently got them up to 8th?
Pleased for him, Tarky/ McNeil/ Keane but the club don't really deserve it.

Re: Congratulations Sean Dyche
Surely it already has lasted longer??
The OC one lasted about 3 months apart from the rabid radicals on either side.
SD was a brilliant manager (if not a little dull) for us for many years. Apart from Shaggy - no one really gets involved too much on the SD threads.

It was never nailed on, you've always got lingering doubts when 3 or 4 other poor sides were involved as well as Everton, still a bloody good job he did.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 7:26 pmHardly obsession
An ex manager, incredibly successful with us, saves a basket case club from nailed on relegation.
