You only have to look at the job Frank's done at Chelsea, chalk & cheese but frank gets the better job offers because he was a better player.

Very happy for Sean, in a big league world I like the fact that unfancied people with lot of skill do well.
I do however think we will run rings round the likes of Everton next season whether he is there or not.

I do wonder if the current owner will stick with him or dispense of his services before next season. I hope not but I'm not sure the Everton board all in agreement about SD as manager. Time will tell. I’ll certainly clap him along with Tarky and Dwight at the Turf but once a balls kicked it’s down to business.

Proper obsessive lot on here, The ones wetting themselves at how great Tarkowski Keane and McNeil were are now claiming Dyche had a poor side and worked a miracle.

I think of the many reasons Brentford have been able to complete an amazing double of Man City, Ben Mee is the last of them considering the regular maulings we used to take off them.

Rode their luck a bit but he had to work with what he had. Some people need to get over Dyche though. He will be trying to beat us next season but plenty will be going crazy applauding him before the matches.

It's not an obsession at all but an appreciation of what he gave us while he was our manager. I hope he gets the reception he deserves next season when he brings Everton but, as I've posted, once he's received that, it's over with.

Howe and Dyche are proving themselves to be very good Premier League managers. Howe is some way ahead in terms of what he has learned, his style of play and plaudits.

It’s a weird one with Dyche still, the football was so bad our own fans were staying away from games in growing numbers but the results over his tenure were excellent.
We were stuck with this horrible rotten hoofball tag from the football world. We were absolutely clueless with the ball and couldn’t pass wind even against lower league teams but without the ball we were well organised and hard to beat.
I appreciate what Dyche did but I wouldn’t want him back managing here under any circumstance

TBH I wouldn't have cared who went down except Southampton, any 2 from 3 today would have been fine with me.

Gutted that Everton didn’t get relegated. Hopefully it happens in next few seasons. These sense of entitlement scousers cannot keep getting away with it.
I’ve never forgiven them from when the match fixer Hans Segers dived over a tame Graham Stuart shot all those years ago.
As for Dyche, I’m not bothered either way. Just happy we haven’t had to cough up all of his severance package.

Really wanted Everton to go down. Not anything to do with Dyche because he obviously brought tremendous times to our club - it would've been great for them to relegated. Don't like how they go about their business and many of their fans are hideous. Delusional tossers

Fair play to Sean who did the business, but Everton are so due a relegation. Their fanbase have been a joke this last couple of years or so. A really shocking level of entitlement with some pretty appalling behaviour. Other than in performative moments, they don’t seem to consistently support their team. Anyway, more of the same next season. I can see them wanting another manager which will be great news for everybody else.

It is it's very worthy of discussion & I'm in full agreement Everton were looking doomed & you could say it's probable Sean saved them without being 100%.

Good point pal. Dyche did well keeping them up. I just wanted to see them relegated. That’s all. Fingers crossed it happens next season.

21 points from 18 games equates to 44 points in a full season and comfortably away from the relegation zone. Given that he walked into a club that was a demoralised shambles, that had just sold their best player to Newcastle, had no serious PL striker to call on, and a fairly mediocre group of players to work with, I reckon his achievement in keeping them up is bordering on Manager of the Season territory.

Sadly, despite turning Everton’s season around, (albeit unspectacularly) he absolutely won’t get a fair crack at it next season. Everton appointed Dyche like Leeds appointed BFS. That’s all it was at the start, and that’s all it was ever going to be. Shame, as I reckon he deserves a decent crack, but Everton are as bizarre a club as Chelsea, Leeds and Watford.

For me the two clubs relegated today were the 2 I wanted
Leeds you either like them or dislike them , for me the latter.
Leicester went into administration years ago and got the Stadium built for nothing and many local companies went bust as did the builders.They escaped real punishment and so Karma has arrived and I hope they stay down for years
Everton have SD and the ex Burnley players so for me it is a no brainer

He did probably keep them up but it's not something you can be 100% sure about, because it's impossible to say what would have happened otherwise, the same logic could apply when he was sacked here (or by mutual consent) but now he's further demonstrated his capabilities it would possibly lead you into the belief that it was more than possible irrespective of any factors bearing in mind the mess he walked into at GP.

I don’t think the evidence will back that up. There’s some decidedly average managers spent small fortunes at Premier League clubs. Facts are Dyche did a better job with the players he inherited from Howe than Howe had done.

Yes and he's done a great job with those resources which haven't been massive. As the poster alluded to, Howe's stock is at the moment following an over achieving season for him relative to the money he's spent.
