They manage ok in other countries. It seems it is just us that mess it up. It is only as good as the person operating it. Unfortunately, they aren't very good.

100%. First thing I would do is make their discussions be broadcasted live on the tv coverage and replays in grounds.
Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
Now would be a very good time to score. Bobby Thomas step up.

Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
On loan from Luton but only played three games for them. Had a good afternoon so far.
Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
If it stays the same they are one penalty taker down.

Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
Sheff Wed are also “down” a penalty taker because of that red card
If it goes to sudden death they have to nominate a player not to take one so it’s 10 players each
Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
Tim Robinson still has some credit in the bank for not giving the Barstewards a penalty when Ashley stuck out an arm at Deadwood in the Championship clinching game...

Barnsley were the better side. Heartbreak. Gutted for Duffo. Hard for 10 men in this weather. Think Barnsley may have won it but for sending off.

Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
1. Its not clear to me he made an error, and if he did Its an honest and understandable one in real time.
2. Lots happened after that, including Barnsley missing chances.
3. Its outrageous to target one individual like that. Refs have an impossible job and deserve a little more respect. Its just unpleasant and nasty.

Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
Feel so sorry for Barnsley. Robinson is a homer as we felt at Sunderland and Blackburn, Wednesday were the big club so virtually at home today with all their fans.
The decisions were poor refereeing decisions by Robinson not VAR initially. I am in a minority of one with the penalty so will rewatch that later with my glasses on, but the red card we all agree on and that decided the game because they ran out of legs by the end.

Fantastic header to win it,gutted for Barnsley but with SWFC's points tally over the season they deserved it.

Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
give over, stonewall penalty not given and it totally changes the game. Robinson has been woeful all season in the Championship and yet he gets given the final. Why does the Championship final get Michael Oliver and yet today they get Robinson and a VAR official who bottled it. It's not vindictive and like I said, choose your words carefully.claretspice wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 5:46 pm1. Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
Robinson had one view of the challenge in real time. If you want to blame someone blame them on VAR. I dislike Robinson yes, he is an awful ref, but it wasn’t a poor challenge. It was a stupid one from Benson and he was taking a massive needless risk. VAR at the option to let the ref look at it again and didn’t, that isn’t Robinsons fault. On only 1 viewing in real time thinks can look completely different, that is why VAR was brought in. If var decides not to act you can’t blame the in field officials.

It isn't really down to Tim Robinson, it's more down to whoever is on var.

What is interesting is he is bottom half of our Rate The Ref despite us winning every game he reffed in.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 5:49 pmgive over, stonewall penalty not given and it totally changes the game. I do think though that both were tough decisions, we can all debate VAR intervention but ‘live’ we can see why he did what he did. He is a homer / big club ref, but he also deserves some credit, did some good things, played some good advantages.
Has there ever been a team to get a critical goal with seconds to go in both the semi and final?

Gutted for Barnsley. Would’ve loved to see Duff do his dance on the Wembley steps again!

He's a woeful ref but I do concur with what others have said above that it's just as much the VAR that let him downCrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 5:53 pmWhat is interesting is he is bottom half of our Rate The Ref despite us winning every game he reffed in.

Weds deserved to go up on the season they had but two last second goals has surely used up all their luck

Re: Barnsley v Owls Playoff
Watched it in deepest South Yorkshire.. very entertaining. Barnsley fans took it well, Wednesday fans obviously delighted. Barnsley deserved more on the day but over the season it’s probably fair. I reckon Duff will take them up next year, some right basket cases gone down from the Championship.
