Never been a huge Anthony Taylor fan but he had the best match by a ref I’ve seen since Collina retired.

Jose talked after the game how they could leave with dignity.

Not clear if those comments were made before or after he was swearing at the ref in the car park.

If this is how UEFA want their second showpiece final to be portrayed, football is done. The players and the managers from both clubs were an absolute disgrace. Until someone stands up against the play acting, feigning injury and constantly surrounding the referee, it will continue to get worse. And Mourinho speaks of losing with dignity. Good grief.

Didn't bother watching after 90 minutes. By that stage I couldn't care less who won. What a terrible advert for football that was.

The footage from the airport showing Anthony Taylor and his family being attacked by Roma fans as police and security try to escort them through, is absolutely appalling.

Terrible isn’t it. He did an excellent job too.

Disgraceful from UEFA to have him going through the airport, worse from the Police and even worse from the scummy people from Rome.

Should ban Roma from Europe to let everyone know that won’t be tolerated.

As for Mourinho, it’s not the first time he’s thrown a referee, opponent or even physio under a bus after a poor result.
A truly disgusting individual.

Mourinho has been classless since he first came to notice. The sooner he disappears from the game the better.
Hopefully EUFA throw the book at him.

Mourinho now been charged with using foul and abusive language by UEFA. (BBC)

Probably get a fine and a touchline ban.
Then he'll do it again...

He's not known as the Portuguese eye gouger (PEG) for nothing when he poked Tito Vilanova in the eye... ;)

100% behind Taylor on here but I thought Rakitic could have had 4 yellows and I’d have given the handball penalty.
After saying that the post-match behaviour from Mourinho and at the airport was a disgrace and I hope he gets a long touchline ban.

Years of weak management and a failure to deal with it robustly have put the game where it is now. The priority has always been money so whatever makes a better spectacle is exactly what the leagues and FA will support. When so much is at stake, it’s hardly surprising that players cheat.
Sadly, I can’t see a way back. What doesn’t help is managers with zero honesty and ex players making up excuses for it like it’s absolutely normal. This game CANT be clean.
Football should have taken a leaf out of Rugbys book when it comes to dealing with cheating (cos that’s what it is) way back in the late 60’s and early 70’s when Leeds started it all.

Football is an absolute mess, it’s bent from top to bottom and it’s only my lifelong love of all things Burnley that maintains my interest in the game. Other than Burnley, football doesn’t interest me in the slightest.
