I heard one bit of clarets related news today. One of the Test Match Special summarisers, Alex Hartley, confirmed that she is a Burnley fan, albeit a partially lapsed one.

She is from Clitheroe - went to Ribblesdale School. Has mental health problems I believe. Best wishes to her.

She's from Read I think. Certainly started her cricket career there.

A good work out game for England.

Runs and wickets for everyone.

Just looked at this and spotted that her Dad is David Hartley - Is this the same David Hartley who played in our 1968 Youth Cup winning team?

Would explain the Burnley connection.

325/1 at Lunch .... 173 runs at virtually a run a ball, I wonder what'll happen when they press the foot on the accelerator ...

Yes she is from Read. She played for Clitheroe before joining Middlesex.

I've read that England have targeted 500 runs in a day, at drinks, half way through Day 2, they are 225/1 for the day ..

Ireland look like a Minor Counties side, a complete mis-match.

First time ever that a test side have won a match with their captain not featuring on the scorecard by batting, bowling or taking a catch.
