There were 4 Chinooks and 2 single prop helicopters at the front, closely followed by about 5 other helicopters. Must be a large military exercise somewhere. Maybe UKR troops training for the summer offensive.

That pub can be a bit lively post match but I’m not convinced it needs its own airforce.

We'd have more if members of every community were allowed to join the RAF.

If one fat old West Ham fan can keep 30 lads from storming up a flight of stairs, the UK doesn't need 300 helicopters

Imagining Leitenant Colonel Kilgore saying "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" and them playing "The ride of the Valkyrie" as they passed over

Was once lucky enough to see some chinooks practicing aerial manoeuvres for a display…. You’d be surprised how that big lump handles in the air, incredibly nimble.

I work on HS2 at a place called Calvert in Buckinghamshire

We had a meeting yesterday and they flew right over the site offices (I assume it was the same ones) - that was probably around 15:00

We have Chinooks fairly regularly flying down the valley, and we've had Apaches go right over the house - a four engined transport job went so low last week the whole house shook

Seen the fast jets over the Lake District and down the valley that runs alongside the m6. The noise they make catches you by surprise. 😲

Saw one at Southport air show a few years back (the last time the Vulcan was there). Like you say, incredibly mobile. At one point the read door/ramp was opened and a guy stood just inside with a giant foam hand waving at the crowd.
