He's a good lad too, I'm really pleased he's had a decent career.

I bumped into him last August at a motorway services. I was on the coach going to Watford and he was on the Gillingham coach on its way up to Tranmere for their game the following day. Had a really good chat with him and he told me about the injury he'd had. Some of his Gillingham team mates were telling me that he never stops talking about Burnley.

He told me when he lived next door that he came to Burnley as a striker. I know he's always seen to be a midfielder in his career but he never really got the opportunity at Burnley to play up front.

Really, why that comment? Do you just like being nasty? If you’ve nothing nice to say bite your tongue.

I think he changed his mind after that afternoon at Palace when he ended up playing up top on his own against a Palace side who were murdering us. First time I saw him, he played up front for the youth team and scored twice, probably about 15 at the time.

I listen a lot to Undr the Cosh and Steve Evans is probably the manager who gets the most criticism on their from ex-players, just pipping Grahm Westley to top spot, but Alex must have a really good relationship with him to sign with him on 3 separate occasions.
