Don’t think Weggy has touched the ball yet but he’s kicked the post.

Not sure you’ve been watching. He’s made a number of good touches.

Human nature is to hang on, City were, so United should have made those changes earlier. A common error from a manager who is otherwise very good. Always up against it, but City get given too much respect. Not sure Inter will though.

Only one goal in it but in reality these two teams are on different planets. Felt City had three or four gears to go through if required. A lot of work needed at United. They'll probably spend the best part of £200m again and then talk about City spending loads of money...

One small consolations for us is at least we went out to the winners.

The word I would use the most to demonstrate the difference is hunger. City are ravenous.

Talent is an understandable gap but hunger is not yet we see it again and again in all sport - City, Fergie’s United, Liverpool of Shankley. Tiger Woods, Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, I could go on. Hunger is the thing that is common in all these greats……

……and we have one as our manager ;)

Went out to the winners in both cup competitions. Only happened once before in 1961.

No. I posted the rules a couple of mins ago.

I think most penalties these days are given due to, apparently, being in an unnatural position whether deliberate or not. But as many have said, the definition and interpretation of that rule is close to nonsense.
VAR decide who deserves a pen!

Of course MU do.

One of the worst things about promotion is Paul Tierney.

Managed to even that game out when Utd were being battered.

Never, ever does anything for us, file him under Lee Mason.

Maybe its time for AI and robots to replace our referees. In addition to poor refereeing they decide the rules on contentious decisions like the handball for the penalty awarded today, which was ludicrous, although it being in their rule book.

I don't understand why VAR got involved on that one, didn't the ref play on?

I could get behind that - but, it's just as easy to program them for bias which would more than likely happen

I'm not in any way condoning this, but in what way is it a public order offence?
They aren't playing Liverpool and the game isn't in Liverpool. I'm not trying to stir the pot, I'm genuinely interested.

Like, wearing a t-shirt proclaiming God Hates Us All could be a public order offence at the Pope's mass, but wouldn't be at a Slayer concert.

Wow

He's literally suggesting that he wished more innocent people had died, publicly. How is that not a public order offence?

It isn't an offence, I'm just amazed that someone could wear a shirt glorifying the fact that not enough youngsters in particular were crushed to death. Sick individual.

No need for the wow, I was asking honestly. Educate, don't denigrate.

It's an offensive t-shirt. You could buy official merchandise for a dozen bands with a worse sentiment than that.
But it wasn't at a Liverpool event, it wasn't in Liverpool and it wasn't at the ground that the tragedy happened. It's clearly poor taste, and the bloke wearing it is obviously a bell end, but I'm asking why it's criminal (or illegal) to wear it. I'm interested in the law of it, that's all.

He was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence, which is why I'm asking. I don't know everything so sometimes I like to ask questions to better understand things and learn from the answers.

Wow. when I saw what was on the shirt I interpreted it as not enough had been done for the deceased.

You can't be joking about the seriousness of this so I'm assuming you are naive, it would be extremely unusual bearing in mind the bitter rivalry for another fan to be highlighting any sort of perceived injustice & also in context leaving yourself wide open for the other interpretation, it's just unwise & something any normal person wouldn't risk even if you are taking that message in a more sincere form granting the benefit of doubt.

Opinions. I thought after seeing it Grealish brought his hand back up after his natural momentum brought it down by his side. Granted it only flicked his fingers, but I’d have probably given it as a pen.

I haven’t noticed. But what I will say is this - how good is Stones these days? I remember the ridicule he used to get for silly mistakes. That’s gone from his game now
Starting to remind me of Franz Beckenbaeur. I wonder if Gareth has any plans to utilise him in a midfield role. Probably not.

What is a public order offence?
The Crown Prosecution Service defines a public order offence as an act that involves the use of violence and/or intimidation by individuals or groups.

This particular incident would be included under Sections 4a and Section 5 covering harassment, alarm and distress.

-use threatening or abusive words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour
-display any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening or abusive
within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress

Yes, naive. I thought the wording was highlighting the injustice.
