Burnley Vs Great managers

Post by 4:20 » Mon Jun 05, 2023 8:56 am

Going off Google's list and the first 10 who we've played against. Am I right in saying we've won against all of them except Pep?

Alex Ferguson
Pep Guardiola
Jose Mourinho
Bob Paisley
Matt Busby
Carlo Ancelotti
Bill Shankly
Brian Clough
Arsenal Wenger
Jürgen Klopp

Going back a bit further Herbert Chapman was regarded as one of the great managers as well.

minutes 30, 33, 43 and 69...
The Utd draw when he was sent off...
The other Utd draw when they ragged an injury time equaliser..
The Turf Moor draw with Spurs and him whinging at his own player..

Still seems weird that Carlo Ancelotti managed Everton.

Gunter Mahlmann came to the Turf in early 1961 with quite a reputation......and left wishing he'd chosen a different occupation.

I think that was the 1:1 draw at Stamford Bridge when Matic was sent off.

And then minutes 09:00 - 09:30 the following morning, the moaning Portugese windbag took over the Sunday morning programme on Sky Sports to try and place the blame on his side not beating little old Burnley on incompetent officiating, rather than the ill disciplined behaviour of his multi million pound players. A certain Chelsea supporting mate of mine from Burnley still mentions the "disgraceful foul" by Barnes on Matic that led to the red card. Even though it was a pass.....

If we're counting penalties wasn't Phil Scholari manager of Chelsea when we qualified for the next round of the league cup at Stamford Bridge?

World cup winning manager I think.

So many at Chelsea it’s difficult to remember who and when but it was Scolari when we won that shoot out.

If you're going with Arsenal Wenger then you've surely got to have Jurgen Kop
