Not as much as the FA Cup.

Major trophies Premier League, Fa Cup, Champions League
Second rate trophies League Cup, Europa League
Minor trophy Europa Conference

And I’d give anything to see us win or get to the final of any of them.

The one thing that I have liked about tonight and this season is that they have taken European Football seriously. By doing that their league form suffered but they are reaping the rewards tonight. Villa celebrated getting into the Conference next season.

I just hope that if we get into Europe again we play our strongest side rather than taking it as an inconvenience with the Thursday/Sunday games.

What the difference between this one and the Europa league?
Well it’s a level lower isn’t it. West Ham now qualified for the Europa next season.

Of course it’s a major trophy. And the Europa League replaced the UEFA Cup, not the Cup Winners Cup.
Not entirely true - it’s a bit confusing if honest but the Cup winners cup merged with the UEFA cup in 99, to be the UEFA cup which eventually became the Europa League after a merger with the intertoto cup.

This is a third tier European competition.

I don’t think it’s a major honour but it’s just an opinion

Spent a small fortune to get to Istanbul only to watch one of the most half arsed performances I've ever seen.

Well done to West Ham for taking it seriously. Their fans will remember tonight long after countless mid-table PL finishes have been forgotten.

A place in the EL makes it a major trophy.
From higher up, the Fairs Cup was replaced by the Europa League in 1971. The CWC was scrapped in 1999 with cup winners going into the EL.

What must the players think, they spend all year trying to get in Europe yet when they get there they are dropped, in the away match at Olympiakos we went with Gibson and Long at the back with Tarks on the bench.

When I look back at my time so far, I’d say that night at York, Wembley 94, Wembley 09, the home game against Wigan, then the Boro & Rovers games this season stand out. I think even a Carabao Cup win might top the lot for me, because of the clubs you’d have to do better than to win it.

Don't get me wrong I'd love Burnley to win this but its a 3rd rate tin pot competition its not a major trophy, its the equivalent of the egg and spoon race or the three legged race on sports day at school

Yeah - it was criminal looking back wasn’t it?!

Would’ve been ‘more’ understandable if we’d have gotten a random team from the arse end of nowhere but Olympiacos are big.

Bet the lads were gutted

If you give a manager a £2/3m bonus for staying in the Premier league, he will always priotise that than fans enjoyment.

Chuffed for Moyes he’s always been one of the good guys and to see him that happy after was great to see.

He’ll be sacked next season though when they loose a few games.

Now I think the inter cities Fairs Cup was replaced by the cup winners cup.
I don't think the Europa League came into existence until about 2009/2010. Certainly not in 1971.

However, I do stand to get corrected.

This. At that point he was gone in my mind. It was unforgivable, small minded and, ultimately (after Fulham away), pointless.

The flip side, well done West Ham who took it seriously and did what they needed to do. Chuffed for Maxi who didn’t play much but didn’t deserve to go down with us and had a weird injury that ruined his season. Was lording it up at the end though like he’d just played 90 minutes

Are West Ham now in the Europa League next season as winners of the Europa Conference League and if so does that kick Aston Villa or Brighton out of their spots? I have no idea how it all works.

Pleased for West Ham who whenever I saw the reports of previous rounds they seemed to have gone full strength in games, also pleased for Moyes who is a decent guy.

Never got this arrogant approach from clubs & fans of which cups are tinpot, Spurs deciding to give up due to it being beneath them was fairly dumb (even more so when they win nothing year after year) and seeing Burnley fans mock it is even weirder. Not sure where this arrogance comes from when fans of club decide which competitions are beneath them.

They are probably the first to criticise any club when they play a weaker side in a game

I didn't want West Ham to win. I've found them to be the most anti-northern fans of all the London clubs. Also, seeing a bunch of their thick idiots threateningly scream 'There's only West Ham that plays in Claret & Blue' into the face of an elderly Burnley fan, while he was travelling on the Tube, didn't exactly endear me towards them.

But also went out to Arsenal, Spurs & Man City twice, all of them away from home. Add to that the Lincoln defeat, when we fielded a really strong team and then the last two years. It was the League Cup really that was poor with defeats against Port Vale, Accrington, Burton and Sunderland.

Some people will still argue Dyche didn’t throw Europe, our back four was Bardsley Gibson Long Ward, with Taylor at left midfield. Absolutely shocking lack of ambition and a shocker of a performance.

Scary to see how many Burnley fans now claim they turned on Dyche because we had a poor transfer window (not Dyche's fault), some injuries (not Dyche's fault) and Tarkowski wasn't fit enough to play (not Dyche's fault) after we qualified for Europe (Dyche's fault).
