Nearly Fixtures Time!

Post by ŽižkovClaret » Thu Jun 08, 2023 8:25 pm

UTC Fixtures and Key Dates

I see the fixtures are out next Thursday at 9am, but can someone remind me how many weeks TV fixtures are announced at the same time, or a day or so afterwards?

Fingers itching on Skyscanner already!

Luton no doubt first TV game on the Friday night due to never being in the league - they'll get Arsenal or Spurs

Reckon we'll have a TV game on the Monday night against city - they'll want that one broadcasting on a day there's no other games

Any other thoughts?

From last year, the opening weekend TV fixtures are announced at the same time as the fixtures are released.

The fixtures are just a rough guide. They'd be as well announcing the fixtures as weekend 1, weekend 2 etc.

Speaking to a Liverpool supporting friend of mine and he claimed that they
had played one of the promoted clubs every year for the last 4 years. Checked
it out and its correct :-

2019 Norwich
2020 Leeds
2021 Norwich
2022 Fulham

SPOOKY ;)

If we do have City first ìt won't be left until Monday. Guess it would either be Friday or Sunday main. Obviously depends on other games but Guardiola v Kompany would be huge for the first game weekend.

City first game would be great, every chance half their main players are still on holiday on doing pre-season stuff. We might only lose by 3

I’d take the annual 5/6-0 defeat against City away first game every day of the week. Get it out the way and then crack on.

Fixtures seem to follow a similar pattern.
Everton around Christmas.
Man City , Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, and Chelsea nearly always to be played in consecutive weeks.
Probably Fulham away first game of the season.
Chelsea away on a difficult time of 8pm on a Tuesday, making it almost impossible to meet up with the Chelsea supporting cousins. Never has an away fixture been set for my convenience.😄

I'd be quite happy if we started with a few of the top 6 early on so we get them out of the way whilst the team is bedding in. It took a couple of months before we really started to click in the Championship and I expect it'll be the same in the PL.

Home game first please

Booked a weekend away with nephew for the second weekend 🤦‍♂️
(although we are close enough to pop back if it is a home game)

Definitely this game first. We don’t want city derailing our 10 game winning streak.
