Their highly rated young defender Ash Phillips is set to sign for Spurs.Another one they thought would be worth fortunes but it seems he has a clause in his contract allowing him to move for £2m

JDT seemingly set to walk out.

Even with the constant funding by Venky's, the club is losing it's fight to keep afloat on the pitch. Only going one way that lot.

According to Lancs live that lot have chosen a new Black away shirt, being described as a Promotion Shirt. I say it will be a Relegation Shirt.

It's quite funny that Rovers fans will have to pay an extra £2.50 to have Venkys badges on their sleeves.

They already have a rich foreign investor who could care less about the club and might be looking to sell. Would another rich investor buy them? Possibly but I think venkys are just going to run them like a league 1 club. Low income and low expenses.

That sponsorship deal looks like they couldn’t get anybody else interested.
Could we not all chip in and get uptheclarets on the sleeve and front of their shorts?

Some of these absolutely deluded dreamers just can't stop giving.

£400k......per week...every week of the year...thats what this total car crash is pouring down the toilet....

Manager now pleading for someone to come and rescue him..training ground flogged..virtually every player for sale but nobody interested..still less than 8k STs sold...and 2 of the 3 summer signings will be out till xmas with long term injuries.

"" the most successful town club in the world""

Breathtaking.

If they hadn't noticed there's a club just down the road that they haven't beaten in years, playing a division higher, with twice as many fans,

I suppose you can't argue with facts.

Blackburn Rovers are the frontrunners. “Rovers must take some beating here,” writes Malcolm. “They won the Football League title in 1911-12 and 1913-14, and the Premier League in 1994-95 (the only town team to have done this), as well as the FA Cup on six occasions (1883-84, 1884-85, 1885-86, 1888-89, 1889-90 and 1927-28).”
That seems fairly cut-and-dried, although Sunderland might also have a claim. “Sunderland became a city in 1992,” writes Bryn Miils, “but the Black Cats won six top-flight titles before then.”

Only if you write "historically" in capital letters.. Do you think any potential purchaser would give a flying one what happened in 1995...let alone a century and more ago?
To describe BRFC as a successful club right now is stretching it way too far.

My god some of their fans are in for the shock of their life when Venkys do pull the plug. Like a prospective owner gives a damn that a local businessman bankrolled them to a title in 1995. They barely have any saleable assets, their attendances are rubbish and they are absolutely haemorrhaging money.

What is never reported is that many of those early FA Cups had excluded Burnley, Accrington, Preston N.E. And Bolton Wanderers (not to include Darwen, Accrington and Blackburn Olympic) who in various years Rovers had banned from the FA Cup bu the FA for playing professional players from Scotland, despite employing the same practices themselves…. The original no one likes us was definitely Rovers… Grammer school toffs, even hated in Blackburn (Olympic was the town team).

If you strip out titles and cups that benefactors have bought for them over the years they would be as successful as say Oldham, even at the start of the last century and the end of the one before they had some seriously rich benefactors who subsidised them. If we had of had such benefactors with our greater fan base and passion we would have had at least double their trophies.

They’ve got a cheek to include FA Cups from the amateur era in their honours list, even though they were cheating the system. It was basically a pub competition at the time in terms of standards compared with what it eventually became. Teams of school teachers and youth clubs, with teams often piling out as they couldn’t raise a team or manage the travel.

I get that everything since 1888/89 season onwards if fair, though we all know there’s always been benefactor cash behind their success. That’s a different stick to beat them with though.

Must be a huge comfort being able to celebrate winning the fa cup in the 1880s while in the modern day the club is on it's arse.

The memories they must hold as they overcame Queens Park must be like a comfort blanket for the cry arses

I certainly don't wish absolute financial ruin for them, but I think it would be really good for their fans to understand their place in the world by suffering a couple of decades in League One/Two. That's all I ask really, just to make them more humble.

They would have to start again, trophyless….

Be careful what people wish for. Because if we drop and don't return within the next few seasons we are likely to face serious financial difficulties.

I think our one year stint in the championship laid bare how much of a bunch of arseholes they really are.

Bitter, twisted, jealous, deluded.

The ticket fiasco was the last straw for me, I wish them nothing but pain.

Ric_C [/quote] Bitter, twisted, jealous, deluded.

They really are.

I know quite a few and the nonsense they spout about us is hilarious. They thought the 'uncle jack money years' would last forever, all the while lording it over us as we bummed around in the lower divisions. Well it didn't last forever did it. They just cannot accept the changing fortunes of the 2 clubs over the last few years, it simply drives them mad. Which is just marvelous.

and what are they left with - a 2/3rds empty ground, almost 200M in debt, owners pumping money in just to keep them afloat and yet, still they get flack from a large section of the dwindling chin-dribblers in the stands (it's almost beyond belief).

They have been so pampered and lucky in the past they really do not get it at all. Arrogance personified.

UTC.

I hope they miss a crucial stage payment or something by the exact amount they could've brought in if they hadn't been such a set of petty arseholes with our ticket allocation. And yes, a slow decline is best.

Article states they have slapped a price tag of £9.45 million on their "wonderkid" Ash Philips amid Spurs' interest, but didn't he sign for Spurs a couple of weeks ago for £2 million as he had a release clause?

Blackburn’s fans are absolutely delusional.

On one hand they talk about the Premier League title as though it’s different than the First Division in terms of status, purely because of a name change, and then on the other hand they hate it when it’s pointed out to them that it was called the Premiership back in the 1990’s, and it’s now just called the Premier League, so there’s doesn’t count either if name change is a factor.

Also, imagine thinking they could regularly fill a 31,000 stadium, never mind the 40,000 Jack planned.

It’s about time they had to pay their own self-inflicted debts off instead of relying on benefactors.

Unless something's happened this morning, AP was still a Rovers player as of yesterday.
£9.45 mil the figure widely quoted and Rovers apparently want £5 million up front with the rest in instalments.

How bad a decision does the ticket fiasco look now. Could have doubled ticket prices and sold 10-15k. Hope they rot in hell. Despicable club

You can choose their tunes for next season on their website. This is just too good of an opportunity to miss. You know what to do clarets….
