Home games pretty much sold out
This probably has been covered elsewhere but was a surprise to me. I live a 9 hour round trip from the Turf but try and get up as much as I can. I just looked and virtually every home game is sold out or has a single ticket available. I used to book maybe 3 months in advance but the tickets for the whole season are available. I’m not complaining. This could be a good thing but will stop ex-pats from being able to go on matches. Looks like I have just one home match next season v Brighton. Not sure how many away games I’ll get tickets for. Maybe none! Might just follow the cups.

let's hope people find their voices, just look at the difference the home crowd has made to Brentford. Sing your hearts out for the lads and all that.

Definitely Vegas. We need everyone singing next year!!Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 10:33 pmlet's hope people find their voices, just look at the difference the home crowd has made to Brentford. Sing your hearts out for the lads and all that.
As for the OP, pretty sure there will be lots of ST exchanges that mean those who want them can get tickets, but obviously by not buying early you run the risk there won’t. Cup games will still be plentiful.
Re: Home games pretty much sold out
The problem buying them early is that a lot of the games won't be played on the date advertised so you might not be able to attend. I haven't checked if they are all Saturday matches but, other than the first against City, three will definitely be moved due to the Thursday night European games. Add those to the televised and there won't be many on a Saturday.
Re: Home games pretty much sold out
Are people buying them knowing that they can put them up for re-sale, nearer the time, if they subsequently cannot attend, owing to circumstance?

There is nothing wrong with that if they intend to go and if they then can’t or don’t want to then don’t sell them for any more than face value

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
There have been opportunities for anyone to purchase tickets for almost every game on the list.
Presumably there'll be plenty of tickets available for every home cup game.
Season tickets are as cheap as chips in relative terms.
You can't put the club on hold for a few hundred punters who can't commit until the Saturday morning of the game.
I got a ST, knowing match tickets would be hard to come by...as an oap that works out at barely more than a packet of fags per game.

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
Completely agree. There’s probably a few whose personal circumstances mean that they can’t commit to buying a ticket so far in advance with possible time/day changes but you basically know with a high degree of confidence that it’ll be that weekend.
There will be far more who want to buy theirs in good time so they can make their plans, as evidenced by the demand, so you can’t delay for a small group who want to buy it closer to the date. And there’s always the option of buying now and selling later if you can’t attend.
Have said elsewhere, but given the value of ST’s I expect the list will grow a lot this year.

Its a bit of a surreal experience being in this situation
Its fantastic, but we need to be doing it when we've had a season where its not been as good
That will be the challenge

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
Maybe
I think the current strategy is working out fine though to get these sorts of results
We are going to be playing every home in front of a full home crowd, and thats going to be great

Not got an issue with it. They are taking the chance. Some may be the would be season ticket holders who missed out.BleedingClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 8:23 amThere is nothing wrong with that if they intend to go and if they then can’t or don’t want to then don’t sell them for any more than face value

Let's see what the next season or two unfolds. May be a genuine capacity improvement then. If not, tickets will be available easier in lower divisions as it used to be. Not complaining. I am genuinely excited with the potential.

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
The thing with that is not being able to include the annual price rises
factoring TV money for a couple of years is understandable because the money remains stable annually within a broadcast agreement cycle
selling a multiple year season ticket is essentially a variation on factoring (something we actually did with season tickets in our first Premier League season and the following one). given inflation and the clubs desire to increase revenues, it is not beyond credibility to expect season tickets to increase by 10% or so annually for a number of years yet. So the problem is getting fans to accept such a built in increase in a multiple year ticket.
then there is the bigger issue of the fact that the take-up of such an offer would be limited making such an initiative hard to justify.
From a club perspective, it will be interesting if they seek to reduce the number of season tickets going forward - the circa 16.5k we have this year has provided a for a surge in interest in the matchday tickets but reduced the earnings potential from such tickets - hence the option to return seats from season tickets for games not being used. Should demand and waiting lists grow, the follow-up to that will be:
- monitoring of empty seats and conditions about attendance records,
- addition of compulsory purchase of cup tickets for season ticket holders
- crackdown on private sale/loan of tickets, with forced return of season tickets from those who are found out
- demand led variable pricing on match tickets, as is appearing in the new hospitality suites
Many clubs with the suitable waiting lists and match ticket demand have reduced their season ticket sales to around 55% of capacity with the circa 25% capacity for matchday tickets sold to members - providing substantially more revenue but spread out across a much greater number of spectators, who also spend much more in the club shop and concessions at the ground on match day.
If current levels of match attendance interest is maintained or even grows in the next few seasons, it is still a difficult economic argument to spend the necessary tens of millions to expand capacity by a few thousand while still growing profitable returns
In the meantime I can foresee matchday revenues breaking £10m within a year or two, possibly even in the coning season

Colburn_Claret got me a ticket for the Chelsea match but now the season has gone on mass sale and, happily, they are flying off the shelf I’ll look to get over for a cup-tie or two.

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
The City game had tickets go back on sale on Monday (yesterday) - presumably they were all from Season Ticket holders that returned their seats for the game.
Might be an indication that seats could become available from two weeks prior to any individual home game but I have no real way of knowing.
It would be nice if the club could specify when this may or may not be.

I’m pretty sure they’ll be put on when a season ticket is “sold back”- That’s what happens at other clubs. I’d advise regularly checking as the club wont email every time a ticket is released.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 5:27 pmThe City game had tickets go back on sale on Monday (yesterday) - presumably they were all from Season Ticket holders that returned their seats for the game.

Well they didn’t for the city game, which is why I posted.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 6:20 pmI’m pretty sure they’ll be put on when a season ticket is “sold back”- That’s what happens at other clubs. I’d advise regularly checking as the club wont email every time a ticket is released.
I only checked because a poster said they had returned and refreshed the ticket page every 15 mins… after around 2 hours various seats popped up available… I didn’t see anything on the official clubs channels regarding availability
Seems like there could be teething issues with a brand new system etc

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
We like many others have season tickets and travel over a couple of hours for home games. We know Friday night games will be tough, Sunday 4.30 kick offs a real pain and Monday nights an ordeal,,,,,,,,but it is choice and we know the risks and have done for many many years and hopefully many more years to come.

Just had a quick look and no tickets available until the new year, now, as mentioned above.
Luton 6 tickets left
Fulham 49 tickets left
Couldn't be bothered looking at the others just now. The real point is, though, if you want a ticket for the few matches that remain with any going spare, I wouldn't hang about. (I managed to get Luton and Arsenal tickets but failed miserably for Everton and WHU tickets as I dithered )
