He’s one of those players you really root for. Clearly an inspiration to many of his fellow countryman.

Nice to see the young lad in the Burnley shirt as well. Hopefully there will be lots more of them in the future.

Just logged in while in Nottingham and seen two threads - Barry Bennell and Lyle Foster. Talk about chalk and cheese. The latter has cheered me up having been reminded of the former.

Well done Lyle, hopefully you get a brace tonight as a reward from heaven :D

Excellent movement for his goal.

Disgrace that it didn’t stand.

If VAR can - correctly - give him a red card for the elbow, why can't it also give Burnley the penalty for Yates deliberately holing Foster's shirt inthe same incident?

Because VAR or the incompetents who are supposed to be working on it are?... Well incompetent. But so was the referee. It was a penalty for a top six team.

Luckily for us his wild hack at the ball for our opener fell kindly for Amdouni.

Stupid, stupid sending off and he knew it was deserved.

Because shirt pulling has become an accepted part of the game?

On replays you could clearly see Koleosho's cross being deflected by a defender before it got to Foster hence his wild hack was not so wild

But all ended well

Hope we give Amdouni a chance up front before Jay next game

All good in the development and maturity of a classic centre forward. Relax Lyle and con again.

Cos the ball went nowhere near them so it didn't impact on the game.

Foster was daft. Great player and clearly a very good bloke though. We'll miss him.

Like Kompany said, young players who will learn. Net time he might go to ground and try to get the penalty.

But when you're being held by the shirt you can't move into a space to receive the ball.
It's a foul and yellow card anywhere on the pitch.

That elbow was a sign of frustration, firstly for the goal that wasn’t and then at being held in the box, which is a penalty for Man City any day of the week.

Luckily, the way the fixtures fall he is only going to miss a week or so.

He’s turned into a beast during the summer break. Quick, strong, good touch - he bounces off players like a rugby league player. What he did was stupid though and it will cost us as we don’t really appear to have a suitable replacement. Hope he, and the rest of the team, learn from this as some of our actions have been naive in the opening few games - you don’t get away with things like that with play acting opposition and VAR.

One thing that's noticeable is his ability to anticipate crosses cut back into the box. It's a very underestimated skill that many strikers don't have.

When you see the number of tap-ins that Harry Kane scored it always made you think why wasn't the defender marking more closely, but it's that superb anticipation that allows the better strikers to be one step ahead of the defender, something that Foster is showing at this early stage.

As long as he stays injury free he should get into double figures with ease.

I know he got sent off but this guys a beast.
Wtf has happened I have no idea. He showed promise last year but now looks a premier league forward.

He’s big, strong, absolutely rapid, runs well with the ball and seems to be finishing beautiful as well. His non goal yesterday was an underrated finish moving across his man.

Amdouni also looks class but we need to get him more involved.
Think having all our wingers back will help as Koleosho, Benson, Zaroury and Tresor all have potential to perform in this league by the looks of things, and we have plenty of back ups as well.

The most improved player for us, and good at so many aspects of a striker role. The big question is why did he not show glimpses of this in the Championship. The PL has brought the best out of him

when you watch it in slo-mo you can see that Yates is grabbing skin under the shirt and probably doing a nipple cripple on Foster - no wonder he got annoyed

I'll happily take a good helping of humble pie, I thought he showed zero promise last year and was convinced he wasn't a player. Sometimes it's nice to be wrong.
